Would you accept stem cells?

    Since IVF doesn't work that often, most of the time a dozen or so embryos are produced. The ones that aren't used are frozen. Some claim that most of the frozen embryos are "adopted" but that's not the case. After a period of time they become less viable and are discarded. So the next time some nice couple says that they're trying IVF think abortion.

    That's correct. In doing IVF, they hyperstimulate the ovaries to produce as many eggs as possible. This way, say they get 20 eggs, they can fertilize them and end up with maybe 10 good eggs. They will then implant maybe 5 of those and put the other 5 on ice in case the first doesn't take - or you want to save them for the next baby. If you don't want to use them, you can let them be "adopted out" but most people don't want "someone else raising their baby" (yeah, it's MUCH better to kill them instead) so they let them be destroyed or used for research.
