In a few weeks I will be preaching a series on Sunday nights from the book of John covering the seven "signs" in John. When I preach on Jesus turning the water to wine, I plan to use three first-person narratives to present the story. The first narrative will be Mary, the second, one of the servants, and the third, one of the disciples. For Mary, I plan to write out her part and have a lady in our church present it. Since the sermon is "mine" and since the female part she is presenting is pre-written by me, and since her presenation is only a part of my larger presentation, I feel that this lady is not exercising authority over the men in the church by being a part of the presentation. Do you think I am stepping over the line or are you comfortable with what I am doing? Honest feedback is welcome.
