If I'm going to doante money, I wouldn't want any publicity. To me, people who come out & publicly donate money like that are just looking for a pat on the back.

One should not presume that, just because someone is recognized for their giving, they're therefore doing it for recognition.

My son's private school recently raised money for a new classroom. My wife and I donated somemoney, and as a thank you, they put our name on a tile. My high school was raising money for a new wing, and when I donated money to that, they put my name on a brick. My home church several years ago built a new sanctuary and honored its donors by putting their names on a wall.

I'm not a wealthy man, but I believe in giving. I don't give to be recognized, but if the recipient wants to recognize me and other donors as a "thank you", they have my appreciation and gratitude.
