Wrong: God loves me and because He saw my worth,He saved me. God loves me and saved me and now I have worth. Right: God does love me and created me in His image. His death on the cross for me shows me the depth of my sin. He alone is worthy of praise. Wrong: I want my child to feel good about him or her self so I am going to tell her how valuable she is and how special she is to God. Right: I love my child and I am going to hug her and tell her so. I'm also going to tell her how grateful I am to God for giving her to us. She is a gift from God. Isn't God good? Wrong: God is here to meet MY needs and to make me feel significant. Right: I am here to serve God and proclaim His excellencies. God uses me for HIS glory. Wrong: I am in Christ to have my identity needs met. If I would just realize who I am in Christ I would no longer be depressed, have a lack of assurance,or feel worthless. Right: Being in Christ is a precious truth. I love thinking about what He has done for me. I am in Christ for the purpose of proclaiming His excellencies...not to have my needs met.
