    And if I find objectivism objectionable, is that not being objective?

    Sorry about that. One of the problems with Objectivism is its failure to understand selfishness as sin. Much more needs to be said, but that might be a starting point, since one interpretation of our present financial meltdown is that selfishness strode into our body politic at any number of points.
