Yeah, it is plain and simple fact according to Matt 23:23 states that Faith and Mercy are weightier matters of the Law that ought to be Done !

So our response to you, explaining how the sentence is diagrammed and defined, means nothing. You're just going to ignore everyone else and hold to your view that is plainly contradictory to the scripture, huh? *sigh*

My apologies to SBM. I apparently missed the clarification that SBM is male, rather than female.

SBM quoted Gill in his justification for this post; here's Gill's commentary immediately preceeding what SBN used:
In other words, Gill was pointing out that these pharisees were placing their hope of salvation in the external, rather than on the spiritual.

Gill's comments, just like scripture, take on a different meaning when placed in context. And just like scripture, it's dishonest to use only the parts you want to use to try to prove your point.

My final word regarding SBM: he will not change his view, no matter how many different ways he's shown to be in error.

In SBM's view of theology, God created His elect in His image, and He loves them; and He created the lost in His image, and doesn't love them, and created them solely to send to the fires of Hell. In SBM's theology, the Bible was written to the elect, NOT to the lost (note that SBM views "the lost" as the elect who haven't realized they're elect). In SBM's theology, the elect are born righteous by Jesus' sacrifice. In SBM's theology, preaching the Word is only necessary to remind the elect that they are the elect and should be acting like it.

I believe that accurately sums up what SBM has posted. And with that, I bid adieu.

You may be teaching Justification by the Law ! 5

    Gal 3:11

11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Now to those who just insist that they are Justified before God because of their faith, they are saying in fact saying, like it or not, that they are Justified before God by the doing of the Law, by what ought to have been done; You see when it pertains to our own act of faith, it is a work of the Law that ought to have been done Matt 23:23

23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

But if Faith be not our own faith that Justified us before God, but rather the Faith/ Faithfulness of Jesus Christ, and that Justification is made known or revealed to our God given Faith, then we avoid Justification before God based upon our work of the Law Faith Gal 3:11 !

And the Just shall live by Faith, it means, the Just or Justified come to believe, that what Christ hath already done in the past for us, by His Death / Blood putting away our sins before God, and that Justifying us before Him, and solely on that basis, then we begin to Live by Faith, BUT that is forfeited if and when we believe that our own act of faith/belief is what Justified us before God, we fall from Grace Faith to Law work Faith, and do claim Justification by the Law, which is contrary to the Truth !
