This article addressed the OP. I did not add one comment of my own. The OP asked about an article he had read that said most new Calvinist's are young white men. This article addresses that very topic.

Please stay on topic and try to keep the discussion from degenerating further into trading snide barbs.

    Thank you.

Isn't it obvious? Calvinism appeals to the elitist, someone who can't find validation any other way than to think that God has favored him above all others. The link to racism here is self-evident, and we all know that only a white man can be a racist.

Therefore, Calvinists are racist, elitist prigs, and the fact that they're mostly white proves it.

I don't think so. Everyone of all races can be racist.

As sarcastic as you were bring, it does dispel a myth. According to the US Census Bureau, 75% of the US population is white. To see a majority of whites in any demographic statistic, such as religious preference, would be expected.

So, what do you all suppose it is about white men that would make them more inclined to be of the "reformed" persuasion?

Are they smarter, more intelligent or better educated? If so, doesn't that seem to contradict the idea of God using the foolish to shame the wise?

If I mention a black church, what kind of service comes to your mind?
