    The ESV is my version of choice although I have others in my library (NKJV, NASB,NIV) . I enjoy the word for word accuracy of the ESV along with the readability that is associated with the NIV.

    NKJV and the NASB. I do have a KJV and NIV for some cross reference work but don't use them for reading or studying.

    I primarily use the NIV, but also use the HCSB, KJV, NRSV, and several others as needed to understand the meanings. I also rely on the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance to teach me what the original languages meant.

    For those who don't know, the HCSB is the Holman Christian Standard Bible, published by Holman Publisher's. I only have the free NT provided by the Southern Baptist Convention through its Sunday School literature last year.

    I can't recall if you had the TNIV on there, but that should be included as well.

    My favorite is the NKJV, followed by the NASB and the KJV. Since our pastor reads from the KJV at church, I carry a KJV to church so that it is easier to follow along with what the pastor is reading.

    I use only the KJV because of the KJV superiority over modern versions.

    I prefer the KJV1769 AKA (also known as)
    the KJB (King James Bible). It is the best
    of the Modern Versions! [​IMG]

    I am KJV preferred 1-2 and use the KJV mostly,however I like the ESV and NIV as well as the NASB but don't refer to them often.

    In Acts 12:4 the KJV and some of its derivitaves (TMB, KJ21, etc.) use the word Easter, rather than the more proper "Passover." Most "modern versions" use the more correct rendering, so how can the KJV have "superiority over modern versions" all the time? Even the New Life Version rendering "special religious gathering" is more accurate than "Easter." The Jews of the time had never heard of "Easter" but they certainly celebrated Passover.

    The Jews of the time had never heard the word "easter" nor had they ever heard the word "passover." "Easter" is the older word dating back to the 9th century AD, and was used to mean "The Jewish Passover" until the early 17th century. See the Oxford English Dictionary.

    The Greek word is "pasxa" and has only one meaning in today's English, "Passover." The passage in Acts 12 is telling us that Herod was going to turn Peter over to the people after the celebration of the Passover was finished.

    There is no question that in today's English "passover" is the correct rendering of "pasxa" but in 1611 "easter" still had the older meaning of "the Jewish Passover." That is well attested to in both the earlier English bibles but also in secular literature of the time.
