All I can say is I'm glad you're not God and I'm glad you're not my husband.

The road goes both ways, annsni.

I am glad you are not my wife.

Scripture declares children to be a gift from the Lord. If you think you can justify telling people that they can kill those children, you aparently do not believe that God gave that child for a reason other than to murder him.

That is a sad view of who God is.

Oh, why not? Then you could have a husband....
    • Who is never, ever wrong on any matters ethical or theological.
    • Who never has to apologize.
    • Who knows every nuance of every situation, and never has to say, "I don't know."
    You're missing out....

She didn't say that, or mean that, and you know it. Quit being intellectually dishonest.

No - Your view is that God gave the babe to kill the mother. Because that's the final outcome of your view.

    Intellectually dishonest?

she has said in so many words in this thread that in some cases it is not wrong to take the life of a child even though the Word of God declares murder to be sin.

And you say I am dishonest?

What part of "Children are a gift of the Lord and the fruit of the womb His reward" do you guys not understand?

What gives man the right to take the life of that which was given by God to be born into the world?

You re-define "murder" to fit your system.

You are "intellectually" dishonest because anyone who disagrees with you, all of the sudden, has their belief in God called into question.

But hey, since you're never wrong....

However, the child will not be born at all. At 20 weeks (or 8 weeks) that child cannot survive. So God created a child who WILL die and will take it's mother.

So how is the view from the cheap seats? It is easy for you to sit on your throne and pass judgments having never been faced with the same decisions I had to make.

In tubal pregnancy, is there no surgical procedure at all that can move that fetus? I would think there would be as far advanced in medical procedures as we are today.

Regardless, one cannot justify killing a child God has given.

    chuck,

You have no idea what I have been through. So don't say I haven't been faced with the same decisions you had to make.

I am not viewing from the cheap seats. I am viewing in the Light of God's Word.

There is not. While we can inject a sperm into an egg, we cannot make it divide and start becoming a baby. We can take a fertilized and dividing egg (zygote??) and put it in a uterus be we cannot make it stick and begin to grow in the lining of the womb.

So, you would watch your wife struggle with excrutiating pain as the fallopian tube burst - and cause her to bleed to death? That would be murder, IMO - clear and simple.

SFIC - Have you chosen to save your child and lose your wife? That is what you're hinting at.

    StandingFirm,

What gives you the right to take the life of that which was given by God to be born into the world? The pregnant mother.

In the hypothetical situation they were told that if the baby lives the Mom dies...remember?

    God: (((THOU SHALT NOT MURDER)))

StandingFirm: "Go ahead and murder the Mom!"

    Why are you advocating murder?

    D28,

I am not advocating murder at all. God gave the child for a reason. Surely you don't believe God would give a child to be born into the world just so you could prevent its ever living?

Well, like I said, it's not going to live. When the mother dies before 24 weeks, the baby will die too. Oftentimes after that too.

So what's your choice? Save one or let both die?

so now you claim to understand the will of God...why some live, and some die?

No one here but you would try and pull that claim off.

We don't understand why these terrible things happen. Not even you.

But it is the height of presumptuous to assume you can understand the depth of that situation.
