When will the Rapture/Resurrection occur?

The just and the justifier
In the treads on the Scriptures concerning the theories of atonement, there is one that has gotten (imo) little attention.
It isn't as well known as Penal Substitution Atonement and Satisfaction theories, which both developed 1000 years or more later then Christus Victor and Ransom theory.
So, the Christus Victor theory does present another aspect that should be attended.
Gustav Aulén (In 1931) considered that the Christus Victor was the classic view of the early church as recorded in... -
Thank You for Your Prayers, I Have Left IHOPKC, I Have Lost My so-called "Spiritual Gifts"
I have committed a death penalty crime according to the bible. I have claimed to speak for the LORD when indeed I was speaking for the devil. I have great sorrow over this and will for quite some time it seems. I lack regret anymore though, I know I am forgiven by confessing my sins and that this terrible affair with an antichristal organization is behind me.
I thank and praise the LORD in Jesus' name that I am set free.
What took me in was my sincere desire to have a good and victorious... -
In Adam all die
Genesis 1:
15The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. 16And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, 17but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
1 Corinthians 15:
20But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the... -
Pre-Wilkinson KJVO -1817
It is a common assertion of the KJV Detractors that King James Onlyism originated with 7th-Day Adventist Benjamin Wilkinson in his book Our Authorized Bible: Vindicated in 1930. For example, in “The Unlearned Men: The True Genealogy and Genesis of King-James-Version-Onlyism,” Doug Kutilek writes, “Every KJVO advocate is a lineal descendant of Wilkinson, Ray, Fuller and Ruckman…”
Now, I reckon there is an element of truth in that – when we view KJVO as a movement within Fundamentalism. Ray... -
How's Your Hermeneutic?
Do you read the Bible with the care and respect we would give any other text or do you treat it like a personal basket of fortune cookies? Do you take a half-sentence from anywhere in the Bible and claim its meaning, independent of its context? Is that Okay? Is it what God intended?
Would you be happy with someone treating your statements in the same manner you treat God's Word? -
In search of J. J. Ray
While searching for biographical information on J. J. Ray, author of God Wrote Only One Bible in 1955 (1976 edition at link), I ran across a June 14, 2004 thread by Paul of Eugene (Oregon) called Can any body tell me about JJ Ray?. Paul was looking for information on Ray for Maurice Robinson of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. That's been nearly 14 years, and Paul and Maurice may have found what they were looking for by now. But, as for me, I couldn't find much of anything readily... -
Staying in the pulpit
Apparently a pastor only stays in a church for 3-5 years.
Granted, there are some who stay for decades - ie Stanely - 40+ years
So why do pastors tend to leave a church after just a short time.
