Libertarian Free Will???
There is no such animal as Libertarian Free WIll. It is a logical impossibility. If you disagree, state your case.
John Frame
1. Choices are either caused or uncaused.
2. If a choice is uncaused, then it springs from nothing and is, therefore, morally irrelevant.
3. Choices are morally relevant.
4. Therefore, choices are caused (and therefore necessary).
5. The causes of choices are either chosen or not chosen.
6. If the causes of choices are chosen, then an infinite regress of... -
The Apostle Paul's Dilemma
Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I... -
Do You Condone Steve Anderson, IFB Preacher?
After Muslims attacked the US in September 2011, there was a deafening silence in place of the open condemnation of the acts of those men by Muslim leaders.
Can the same be said for independent fundamentalist pastors in regard to Steve Anderson? Have any openly come out in condemnation of Anderson for his hatred? -
John 6:44
I recently saw this verse misused in another thread so I felt compelled to address this verse.
John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father, who hath sent me, draw him. And I will raise him up in the last day.
The context of this verse is "come to me" in other words the context is all those who come to Christ. Jesus said in order to come to Christ the person that comes has to have been drawn. It also says that those who have come will be raised up in the last day. It is really very... -
Your Sins You Will Remember No More
Woman tells about her once-estranged elderly father getting dementia and no longer remembering his adultery and deserting his family:
First-Person Real Life Story
"He spent his days sitting in his big red chair watching television....A divorced couple on the Jerry Springer program was screaming at each other. Dad looked up at me and said, 'Isn't it wonderful that no one in our family has ever been divorced? We all love each other.' Wow! Who would have ever thought that such truth could... -
Which Type Were You?
John 3:19–21
[19] And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. [20] For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. [21] But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” (ESV)
There are two types of people described above. Which type were you... -
What does Amillennialism /Postmillenial offer ,compared to what premillenialism offers?
JoJ had asked this in another thread
After the tribulation, only the redeemed will enter the Millennium, but even under the perfect rule of Christ, parents will fail, and not win their children to Christ. Those children will rebel, but not be allowed to do so politically. Then, God will allow Satan to deceive people at the veryt end of the Millennium, thus once more glorifying Himself. His power is awesome and compete, and even Satan and billions of rebels cannot assail it. Mankind is... -
Deeds or Creeds
Which do you believe are more important? Which do you believe God thinks are more important?
I have some thoughts but will wait for others to respond. -
The Rod of Iron Rule....when is it? How does it work?
Agedman said;
There is no “hordes of evil,” men. But fallen men who must submit to the rule of Christ, for any rebelliousness is immediately and thoroughly resolved. Hence the term applied to that rule as being with “a rod of iron.”
I asked;
Sinners sin every day...so how do you see the rod of iron rule actually operating?
Later JOJ offered this;
The purpose of the Millennial reign of Christ is not to convince Mankind of anything. What Christ will prove is that Mankind is still rebellious... -
Confessions of Faith
What are your favorite confessions of faith?
Here are some of mine. I should mention that I don't hold to the doctrine of hell in these.
