Liberal Hermeneutics
Word has reached my ear that some of my critics on this board believe that I hold to liberal exegesis which is completely false. Check out this article.
Liberal Christianity - Wikipedia
Instead, liberal Christian theologians have an allegorical interpretation of the Bible which emphasizes the moral or other spiritual lessons which can be learned from its stories......Many liberals prefer to read Jesus' miracles as metaphorical narratives for understanding the power of God.[9

How to get more involved in church
Church is not into contact evangelism so street evangelism, open air preaching, going door to door are not activities they would engage in unfortunately. They do have a nursing home ministry and I have preached before in such environments back in SC however my preaching may be too harsh in such an environment where the church assumes everyone is saved. Yes back in SC that's what the leadership assumed and when I modeled myself after some sermons that a Ray Comfort or rev brother Paul Washer... -
How do evangelical conditionalists dodge Matt 25?
Was listening to TWOTM Radio podcast today as I took my walk and Todd encountered an evangelical conditionalist who insisted that Hell did not go on forever. Todd repeatedly used Matt 25 which speaks of eternal life and eternal punishment for the damned but it did not sink in. How do you dodge this passage of scripture? -
The difference between a false teacher and a heretic
There has to be a difference but oftentimes the two are mingled together. I'd say heretics are those that teach anther gospel and or compromise the essential core doctrines of the faith, while a false teacher may just teach a false view on something. Ie Joel Osteen is a heretic, while according to my view those that teach Evangelical Conditionalism I believe to be false teachers.

Is Time a dimension or a Measurement?
Often we hear and read of theologians claiming that God exists "outside" of time and yet one can look in vain to find such language ever used in the Bible. They simply do not understand the nature of time. They think that time is a "dimension" or "sphere" rather than a measurement of things that have a beginning and end.
God does not exist outside of time, He just cannot be measured by time. The best way to illustrate time is to take a tape measure. A tape measure has a clip at the end... -
Believing provides new life
John 20:31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
1. The gospel was put in writing that we may believe
2. We must believe in Jesus Christ.
3. Believing in Jesus provides new life. You are now living and no longer dead. -
NOBTS professor detects Calvinistic tilt in study notes of LifeWay’s new Bible (CSB)
NEW ORLEANS (LBM) – A noted scholar has published a focused assessment on study notes in the newly published Christian Standard Bible (CSB), saying non-Calvinists “will be disappointed” due to the heavy Calvinistic leaning in some of its comments about passages that address salvation.
Adam Harwood, associate professor of theology with the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, described the actual Bible translation as a “theologically conservative resource,” but took issue with the... -
The quickening
There is a point in some of our lives, if not all, when the message of the gospel hit us squarely between the eyes or pierced our hearts, and our physical body was pumping adrenaline like that of a marathon runner. I grew up in church hearing the gospel for years, as well as having it backed up by my mother in our private conversations. At fourteen years of age, it struck home. The questions poured out of me and mom would answer as best she knew how with help from scripture. The heart... -
Name the first sin...
Name the first sin mentioned in the Bible according to Orthodox Judaism? It is found within the first 3 chapters of Genesis. Being able to read Hebrew would make this easier. This sin also leads God to "curse" something also found in the first 3 chapters of Genesis.
A little history here. I was born Jewish and raised in the Orthodox Community. I was an Orthodox Rabbi at one point in my life.
I do not have an ax to grind here and just hoping for some light bantering after a few posts I... -
Remarriage: A Healing Gift of God?
Ordered a copy of the book by this name on eBay and await to read it. But also came across another article.
A Statement on Divorce & Remarriage in the Life of Bethlehem Baptist Church | Desiring God
The Guidelines
1. A believer and unbeliever should not marry (1 Cor. 7:39; 2 Cor. 6:14-15).
2. Since death breaks the marriage bond (Rom. 7:2-3; 1 Cor. 7:39), remarriage is permissible without sin for a believing widow or widower, if the marriage is with another believer.
3. Divorce may be...
