Erickson on the incarnated Christ
Is Millard Erickson correct that when incarnating, Christ's divine attributes became limited? (Christian Theology: 1998:751) why/why not? -
An Incarnational Christological Question
Christ has two natures.
Is Wayne Grudem correct that one nature does some things the other does not do? (Systematic Theology:1994, 558). why/why not? -
Calvinism started with John Calvin True or false?
False is the answer. But to many anti Calvinists and those ignorant of history the answer would be true. Reading this book on the history of alcohol in the church and it's as clear as day that Luther whom came before held to Calvins views. -
Wine comes from God but drunkenness from the devil!
This is something all the reformers believed. Just finished reading about Zwingli and his love for wine. I tell you these books help prove that teetotalism and those that hold to it are not of God or at lest hold to something unbiblical. I mean the reformers were against teetotalism, the colonials, and so many others. Why is it that it takes up to this century after the Temperance movement to popularize teetotalism? It was not a popular ideology amongst Christian's that lived in the past. -
2 Peter 2:1 shows Jesus died for the non-elect
"But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, and will bring swift destruction on themselves"
The word "bought" here is from the Greek, "agorazo", which refers to the "redemption" of Jesus Christ, of His blood shed for ALL sinners. This use is as defined in the standard Greek lexicons of Arndt and Gingrich, Thayer, and Robinson, and is also used... -
1 Timothy 2:4 - "God wills ALL men to be saved"
" For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:3-4).
The salvation of ALL HUMANS is said in the Word of God, to be "good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior", which is what this passage, and indeed the entire Bible very clearly teach. However, there are some who would have us believe, that the word "all" does not really mean "everyone without exception", but will limit... -
Jonah and Universal Atonement
The Book of Jonah is one of the greatest accounts of God's Mercy to a very sinful and wicked people, which shows beyond any doubt the wideness of God's Love and Mercy and Forgiveness, that is NOT limited to the "elect" as some distort to be the case. No "Calvinist" can ever explain the Mercy and Salvation of God to the people Nineveh, who were noted for the cruelty in the way they treated the Jews, and the main reason why Jonah did not want to give them the Gospel Message. Even Jonah's... -

Would or even Should your church provide SANCTUARY for illegal's?
Sanctuary in the age of Trump: Coming to a church near you
One of our local churches, not Baptist, will explore offering sanctuary for illegal's here in Riverside, California? This is a church in name only, not just because a woman serves as their pastor, but this denomination caters to homosexuals too, providing marriage services and opportunities to serve in ministerial roles.
So what do you think about a church willingly disobeying the laws of the nation they call home? After all, Peter... -
Great Hymns and Spiritual songs about salvation by grace alone.
While I was at church we sang a litany of hymns that express the joy of being saved by grace apart from any work of our own doing. I thought it would be good for people to share the songs of grace alone that touch your heart and speak theology to your soul.
I will start out with the most popular hymn of all time, a good "Calvinist" hymn, Amazing Grace.
