God has called all to repent and believe in his Son in order to receive eternal life, so can man do that apart from the work of the HS to provide that?
On another thread in the pastor's forum, I made the assumption that sex offenders are dangerous and should not be trusted because they are repeat offenders. Another poster gave links that would seem to dispute this, at least partly.
Before I respond to him, anyone else care to chime in?
I am in church last night and out pastor was speaking on the Past, Present and Future of Jesus. One of the verses was Hebrews 10:28.
"So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin, unto salvation."
What jumped off the page at me was, "...appear the second time without sin,"
Now for sure I believe Jesus was sinless..., but he was in the flesh. We know the flesh represents sin by it's very...
FOREST: There is a salvation in coming unto a knowledge of the truth but it is not eternal salvation. It is a salvation (deliverance) that we receive here in this world as soon as we understand. Most of the salvation scriptures are deliverances we receive here in this world. The only time that it is talking about eternal salvation is when we are delivered from this present evil world.
I thought we might dedicate a thread for Forest (& Kyredneck, if he so desires) to give a BIBLICAL...

Joh 8:42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me.
Joh 8:43 "Why do you not...
I noticed that your subscript says you play the banjo
Yes, I do. The banjo is my primary instrument these days. But prior to taking up the banjo, I started years ago with the acoustic and electric guitar, then the dobro. I have never taken lessons, but at the very beginning I got a chord chart. After learning the chords I would just play around with the instrument until I figured it out.
May I ask you if you are one of those people who are just...
John 6:39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
This is possibly the strongest verse in the Bible for the doctrine of eternal security.
A. "The Father's will" in context does not refer to the REVEALED WILL of God but as verse 37 demonstrates it refers to the DETERMINATE WILL of God because every single one the Father gives does in fact come to Christ, whereas, the...
What does it cost you to follow Christ? Everything. The sad reality is that many people are just part of a crowd, many are in the crowd of those who listen to Piper, Washer, Conway, MacArthur, yet they themselves have not truly submitted to the Lordship of Christ. Search yourself out this very day... have you come to saving faith? Or do you just wish you had the reality of Christ that you see others have? Don't be part of the wrong crowd......
