Trinity
Does anyone else here find it odd that a Christian, having the Holy Spirit of God, having the Spirit of Christ, and after studying the Scriptures through prayer could come to the conclusion that there is no Trinity with God?
I understand that many of Christians may not comprehend God as being a Trinity, but could they conclude that the Scriptures have not without a doubt revealed the Trinity to man?

The Confused Arminian
So, today the sky is blue, the birds are chirping, and spring is in the air. What a great day to get saved. I think I will take the dog for a walk, then skip to my lou down to the church, and say the sinners prayer, and volia, I am saved. We can schedule the Baptism for next Sunday. God, I have this under control, just send the Holy Spirit to guide me and I will not bother You again.
I cannot believe anyone would fall for the Calvinism. The only point I agree with is that I cannot... -
Oprah and Rick
Watching Oprah's lifeclass right now and I really need to turn it off. This guy is so fake. 30 minutes in he has mentioned God three times and not in a saving way. I'm not saying he must share the Gospel, but he is a SBC minister and he's on Oprah's show. She has admitted on her shows before that she doesn't believe Jesus is the only path to God, but will Rick ever confront her with the truth of this matter? I'm betting not. Rick and Oprah have been spouting on about his Purpose Driven Life... -
What traits define IFB?
Whenever sin is pointed out in IFB camps, the IFBx come out of the woodwork to scream how isolated the sin is and how ALL churches cannot be painted the same way. Each church is different.
While this is true to a degree, there ARE certain characteristics IFB churches are known for, specific things IFBs look for in a church, and things noticed by unsaved folks who know them a little. Please post your personal observations of what IFB's believe and practice. I'll go first:

Is Pelagius Teaching On The Rise?
Pelagius argued for the existence of free will. He could not see how we can be responsible for something if we do not have free will in that matter. His premise was that the will, rather than being bound by sin, is actually neutral---so that at any moment or in any given situation, it is free to choose either good or evil.
From what Im reading & hearing this is the view of most people today....including Christians.
Is there in fact a broad spectrum of people embracing this as their... -
A Smaller Church
It is my sincere hope that the Christian Church becomes much smaller in the next few years & happy to be so. I take seriously Jesus' teaching about "two or three gathered in his name" How else will we regain our integrity & effectiveness as proclaimers of Jesus Christ as Lord & Savior.
Your thoughts are appreciated. -

The conflicted Calvinist
Many here engage with what I like to call "a conflicted Calvinist." They are a conflicted group of people because their angst is really inconsistent with what they claim to believe. They are actively engaged in rebuking you for doing or believing something that you could not have willingly done or believed otherwise. In other words, they are actively rebuking God's ordained and preset will for your life, all the while believing that their own rebuke is likewise God's ordained and preset... -
God's love, is it equal for everyone???
Before this thread deteriorates into a general Calvie vs. non-Calvie debate (which I am sure it will), what exegetical proof do you offer to make the claim of God's love being equal to all humans or special to the elect??? -
The seeker friendly movement in the Fundamentalist movement
It seems as if the unbiblical evangelism methodology found in many seeker friendly churches have infiltrated the Fundamentalist movement. Friendship evangelism is very popular in the seeker churches and also seems popular in some IFB churches. Sad as it is, but the singles ministry in my church has gone down the slide and allowed this unbiblical methodology to dictate their practices. The leader does not believe in the word of God and always uses his experience and opinions as the authority...
