The conflicted Calvinist
Many here engage with what I like to call "a conflicted Calvinist." They are a conflicted group of people because their angst is really inconsistent with what they claim to believe. They are actively engaged in rebuking you for doing or believing something that you could not have willingly done or believed otherwise. In other words, they are actively rebuking God's ordained and preset will for your life, all the while believing that their own rebuke is likewise God's ordained and preset... -
God's love, is it equal for everyone???
Before this thread deteriorates into a general Calvie vs. non-Calvie debate (which I am sure it will), what exegetical proof do you offer to make the claim of God's love being equal to all humans or special to the elect??? -
The seeker friendly movement in the Fundamentalist movement
It seems as if the unbiblical evangelism methodology found in many seeker friendly churches have infiltrated the Fundamentalist movement. Friendship evangelism is very popular in the seeker churches and also seems popular in some IFB churches. Sad as it is, but the singles ministry in my church has gone down the slide and allowed this unbiblical methodology to dictate their practices. The leader does not believe in the word of God and always uses his experience and opinions as the authority... -
Elder lead vs Congregation lead
I have been a member of a SBC Church for 39 years and basically have no problem at all with any facet of the denominations doctrine. It is nearer to 100% what I believe the Bible teaches then any other denomination whether they be main line or evangelical. I do have a question about Church Government. IMO or as I interpret scripture the Elder lead type is more in keeping with NT Teachings then the Congregationalist type. Has this always been the case in Baptist Churches in particular or is... -

Which translation?
I have never read the bible thru in a year, but am thinking about doing it. I have heard one preacher say he does it every year in a different translation. For those of you have done this, which translation did you use and why? Did you use a study bible? Did you use the canonical method (books in order) or the chronological method? Or maybe you used a method that you think is better than those two. -
Demons
since im made a post on what i believe the word Satan means--lets now discuss the word Demons.
what does the word Demons actually mean ??since i dont believe in angels falling from heaven, lets look at a scripture that i believe tells exactly what the word demons is referring to.
Deuteronomy 28-15 starts listing the cursings the people would receive for not keeping God's commandments--all sorts of physical and mental illness and sickness--look at them closely and you can relate all of... -
Are we reaching men?
"The stallions hang out in bars; the geldings hang out in church." David Murrow.
Mark Driscol said the church has produced "a bunch of nice, soft, tender, chickified church boys. … Sixty percent of Christians are chicks," he explains, "and the forty percent that are dudes are still sort of chicks."
I think this is true as unpleasant as it may make men who are "chickified" themselves feel.
I grew up in a rough crowd.
Most of the men I grew up with would find this Joel Osteen type... -
Catholic Question ???
I know there are some catholics on this board so maybe you can help.
My question is, if the Bible consistantly tells us that Jesus Christ is the
ONLY WAY to the Father -(JN 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me) and there is only ONE mediator between God and man (1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus) and there is
but ONE name in which we are saved (Acts 4:12 Neither... -
Does Evolution Make Christians?
Evolution makes Christians - creation.com
I cannot accept or believe your charge that lots of people leave the church because of Biblical Creation. In my some 22 years of working in this ministry (with probably a lot more firsthand experience than yourself, respectfully—at least hundreds of people in different churches every single month), I have never met a single individual who came to Christ because he ‘discovered’ he could...
