What is regeneration or new birth?
I think most of us will agree it is an INTERNAL event produced by the power of God.
We will not all agree in defining what it is or how it is obtained.
At this point I will not attempt to prove what I believe it is but I will simply state what I believe and look at your responses:
A. General obvious definition:
It is the exact reversal of the descriptive characteristics of the unregenerated condition.
B. Specific definition:
It is the creation of a new inward nature (new... -
Antichrist reigning !
One of the ways it is known that we are in the days of the reign of Antichrist, and that day of apostasy Paul describes here 2 Thess 2:3-4
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
This is so because... -
Do babies go to heaven?
"If a baby dies, does it automatically go to heaven?"
Many people believe that if a child dies before reaching an "age of accountability," then that child will go to heaven. The idea is that infants and young children are not mature enough to understand about sin and about Jesus' sacrifice for our sins, and therefore they're not held accountable for sin. Scripture seems to support this idea. -
Why isn't the NKJV seen as being another update on KJV?
As being like the 1789 was to the 1611? -
Pastor Abusing Position
I would like to have your input and comments on a very real situation that a church is experiencing. I am not a member of the church, but I do have some very close connections in the church. There are a lot of details, so bear with me.
It is a Baptist church in its theology, though not in name. The current pastor has been there for about 15 years. He is very intelligent and has a Ph.D. from an Ivy League college. In my opinion his speaking skills are rather weak, but he has evidently been... -
Church Service Security & Guns
I live in Honduras, one of the most dangerous countries in the world right now. I visited a church last year that was fairly large, nice facilities, big parking lot, and a gated property that can only be entered through the guarded gate. What caught my attention was that the guards were all packing heat (12 gauge pump action shotties) very visibly. You always see this sort of thing when ATMs are getting restocked. Also, many businesses have a guard posted outside visibly showing his... -
Why do you all think what we think
is more important than what we do? God is a grammarian? -
How Did Jesus Christ Preserve The New Testement Church?
In the Book of Acts, the church is unified in one body with One Spirit, however short of time that lasted. Christ promised to preserve His church. My question is, how do you think He did that?
It is easy to eliminate some of the possibilities without much effort. The easiest is to eliminate the RCC. They were not even organized into a church until about 500 AD. They claim Peter as their first Pope, taking office 500 years before the RCC became an entity. So, they were a church... -
What all was Jesus wanting to accomplish while on earth?
I've heard some attempt to argue that we should evangelize more like Jesus, who was known for turning away people with his difficult messages (i.e. John 6).
But was that one of Christ's purposes while on earth? Couldn't Jesus have preached a message as powerfully appealing and effective as Peter did in Acts 2 when 2000+ were added to their numbers? Sure he COULD, but he didn't.
Instead, we see Jesus telling his followers to keep things quite for a while, speaking in parables so as to... -
Remarriage After Annullment
We have had a lot of discussion about remarriage after divorce, but what if the marriage is annulled by a judge as not having been valid? Can a person remarry then?
