1 Cor. 12-14
Seems like everyone is against Baptist charismatic members and not just their beliefs. I know different Baptist churches hold different beliefs on certain things, but most southern baptist do not believe that the manifestation are gone... just on what they are.
What do most of the baptist here believe about the Holy Spirits manifestations today?
Please try not to belittle me for what I believe but yet defend what you believe. Not just opinions..scriptures please!
I ask that this... -
Why is the Country Morally and Economically in the Toilet?
Biblical marriage is under attack because the CHURCH has not honored the God-ordained covenant. As the Church goes, so goes the nation.
There have been 50,000,000 abortions because the CHURCH has not valued life. As the Church goes, so goes the nation.
Why is sex outside of marriage the new norm? Because the same thing goes on in the CHURCH. As the Church goes, so goes the nation.
Why has modesty in dress disappeared? Because it's disappeared in the CHURCH. As the Church goes, so... -

Calvinism is a combination of Theological Fatalism and Determinism, or is it?
Calvinism is a combination of Theological Fatalism and Determinism, or is it?
Several times I've seen calvinists on this board deny that Calvinism is fatalistic or state that claims made against the theology does not reflect their belief but instead reflects fatalism. While this may be the case, I have not seen any explanation as such. If it is the case it would seem that it is in their interests to make the distinctions known, since, imo, it is on the minds of most that would considering... -

Spirit of Religion....
The church at Ephesus had "left their first love" (Rev. 2:4). When we read in Acts 19 at "first works" and "first love" we find certain truths.
The church at Ephesus were baptizing in water, laying hands on the people for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, magnifying God in tongues, casting out Demons, healing with prayer cloths, and being evicted from old way.
Did religion take over? Did their fire, passion and love go out? What was missing? was it the power of... -
Emotional or Exegetical?
On this board there is a diversity of theologies. Some are Arminian, some are Calvinists, some are Molinists and many have no systematized theology but think of themselves as simply believing the Bible.
But we all have some things in common.
#1 We all believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God.
#2 We all interpret the Bible with very fallible minds and hearts.
So the most important thing we can do in this life is develop a very solid set of hermeneutics- rules whereby we... -
What Are the Keys to the Kingdom?
In the thread on the Holy Spirit, awaken says this:
Jesue church (which includes us) was given the keys of the kingdom. Jesus said what ever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. The keys of heaven give us access to all the resources in heaven. We just have to be taught how to use them.
When satan is bound over a circumstance in my life, by using the authority God has given us through the cross and resurrection, he has to... -
Jesus ministry...who is to carry it out?
Jesus Had a Ministry of Evangelism and Healing
Notice that Jesus' earthly ministry primarily consisted of evangelism and healing:
Luke 3:23 says that before Jesus went to the cross, He had an earthly ministry:
Luke 3:23: "Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry."
A large part of His three-year ministry consisted of evangelism and healing. Did Jesus turned this ministry over to the Church when He gave us the Great Commission?
Luke 4:16-21 says...
