In the flesh versus In the Spirit
My premise
1. What is born of flesh is flesh - Jn. 3:6
2. Those "in the flesh cannot please God" - Rom. 8:8
3. "in the flesh" refers to the nature of man as he comes from the womb of flesh
4. What is born of Spirit is spirit - Jn. 3:6
QUESTIONS
1. Is there any human being (other than Christ) not born "in the flesh"
2. Can any human being "in the flesh" please God? -
What are the Differences between Old/New Covenants?
Dod both OT/NT believers have SAME thing done to them/for them by God?
Why is the New one called "superior/more sure/better?" -
Spiritual life without Spiritual Union?
Here is my premise:
1. God is a Spirit
2. Spiritual life is in God
3. spiritual Separation from God is spiritual death
QUESTIONS:
Can any human being be spiritually separated from God and have spiritual life?
Is there such a thing as eternal life without spiritual union with God? -
The Olivet Discourse in Mt 24 & Lk 21
I am studying this great passage & reading several books which highlight it. In Erwin Lutzer's new book "The King is Coming" he says that the discourse will not be fully fulfilled until the tribulation. Perhaps my understanding was wrong on this passage, but I thought the discourse was written for gentile Christians, however according to him the discourse is for the jews. Perhaps I am not understanding something here. Biblical Prophecy has to be the most complex of all the theological fields... -
Debit/Credit Card 3 digit security codes AND the anti-christ
Do any of you notice that MOST websites require you to enter your 3 digit security code found on the back of your Debit/Credit Cards when making a purchase online or donating money? This is setting the stage for the coming Tribulation and the anti-christ whom will mandate everyone to get his number 666, and those without the number will not be able to buy or sell. 3 digit debit/CC codes was not required online just 5 years ago,and things have already changed. I think its very important to... -
Those Who Never Heard the Gospel
I started a similar thread way back in 2001; I don't want to resurrect that, but I am interested in the views of the current forum members on this subject.
So, what do you all believe about the final destination of all those countless millions of people who lived before Jesus and thus never heard the Gospel message, and those who have lived since Jesus who never heard about Him or the Gospel message and thus never had a chance to accept or reject Jesus?
Are they all either already... -
SBC Committee Hears Proposal on Sinner's Prayer
A resolution submitted to the SBC's Resolutions Committee declares that the Sinner's Prayer is appropriate and Biblical:
Here's part of the Baptist Press Article
A proposal titled "On the 'Sinner's Prayer'" by Eric Hankins, pastor of First Baptist Church in Oxford, Miss., was publicized by The Christian Index in Georgia. Hankins notes there is "no one uniform wording found in Scripture or in the churches for a 'Sinner's Prayer,' the prayer of repentance and faith," yet it is... -
Difference Between Pre and Post Law
There was another thread that touched on the subject of how sinful man is held accountable for his actions before the Ten Commandments and after. It is a complex issue, and the purpose of the thread is learning for me. It seems the bottom line is that we are held accountable for our sins, but for a different reason than those who lived before the Ten Commandments. The final result is the same, but I would appreciate knowing what you all think is the basis of being our being guilty before... -
The Voice of One Crying in the Wilderness
All four Gospels precisely agree that John the Baptist said "the voice of one crying in the wilderness" (KJV) --
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. (Matthew 3:3)
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. (Mark 1:3)
As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one... -
Coming to God
Can a sinner come to God independent of God's calling? Those who say "yes" will point to passages such as Acts 10:1-2; Deut. 4:29; Psa. 34:10; Isa. 55:6; Acts 15:17 et. al. No serious Bible student should disagree that men can seek God; even unregenerate sinners. I'm very upfront about my convictions. This is not an impartial post. I hold to the doctrines of grace and believe that regeneration precedes justification. But this thread has to do with whether unregenerate sinners can seek...
