Is It Time to Boycott Marvel Comics???
Now that the Green Lantern has come out of the proverbial closet, I wonder how long it will be before the Marvel Company decides to bring another superhero out of the same closet?
This is the liberalization and watering down of American values and morality, and just because it is ever so slow, doesn't mean it isn't still eating away at, and eroding the foundation upon which our younger generation's values and morals will have to stand.
Not only is the need for tolerance being forced... -
Must I leave BB?
Since my former Baptist pastor holds that all subjects -- eg the Person of Christ vs. how to grow up and be true men--are of equal importance to preach, and that preaching/teaching doctrine really is not so important, and that all adult SS teachers are of the same quality regardless of commitment, training and preparation , I left that Baptist church and joined a Christian church which IMO is doctrinally baptistic ( yes, I tried other Baptist churches in my area) .
SO: as I am no longer... -
My testimony glorifies the Lord God Almighty!
From the diaries of my 9 evangelism trips to Bulgaria, I have summarized some highlights of my spiritual experiences.
I compiled this testimony to show that God …
• deserves to be praised and glorified for the wonderful things He has done
• provides for (and protects) those whom He sends forth to do something for Him
• confirms with signs and wonders the saving truth of His precious gospel
Years before going to Bulgaria: After losing a tennis match, I was sitting alone (wearily) when God... -
Marijuana to smoke or not to smoke
Today there is a large number of Christians that feel it is acceptable to drink alcohol for recreational purposes or perhaps a night cap as long as they do not get drunk and of course they have their own personal definition of what being drunk is. There is also a number of Christians who believe smoking pot for recreational purposes or again a night cap is alright as long as they do not get high who also have their definition of what getting high is. Since alcohol is legal should marijuana... -
SBC- Hatfields vs McCoys?
If some people press the issue in SBC it will emblazon a feud that will lead to the crippling or death of the SBC.
Page Patterson, Jerry Vines and other well respected brethren seem determined to turn up the heat on this feud that will likely kill us as a movement.
The document "A Statement of the Traditional Southern Baptist Understanding of God’s Plan of Salvation" is sure to hurt feelings unnecessarily and to incite a fight between Calvinists and non-Calvinists that the SBC cannot... -
Arminian, Calvinist, Biblicist
I came across a neat little pamphlet that addresses those who call themselves Biblicists.
Now, us Calvinists and Arminians know who we are. But what of those who claim to hold to a third position? They claim to be neutral, but are they really? The pamphlet lists the Arminian and Calvinist positions and then asks the Biblicist to state his own position.

What is a Biblicist? In the on-going controversy of the... -
Baptist School Loses Third of Faculty
Employees of Shorter University desert the school in droves following new president's imposition of 'lifestyle' regulations:
ChristianityToday.com
"The university, in Rome, Ga., now requires faculty to sign a personal lifestyle statement that says they will not engage in illegal drug use or drink alcohol in restaurants, stadiums and other public locations. “I reject as acceptable all sexual... -
Coptic Christians
Today we hear a lot about "Coptic Christians" being persecuted in Egypt. Do you believe that the "Coptic Christians" are really Christians?

About to hit the fan in the SBC
This statement: "A Statement of the Traditional Southern Baptist Understanding of God’s Plan of Salvation" was just released and buzzing around the SBC world. Pretty bad display of Calvinism. Any thoughts here?
