Alternative to Starbucks

My alternative to Starbuck's is usually Panera Bread Co :thumbsup:

 

Looks like they have a pretty good business going there.

 

In order to gain customers, especially taking customers from Starbucks, you don't need to be better than them. Because you can't. Starbucks is the best when it comes to coffee. What you have to do is something they don't, which they are obviously doing with the whole "conservative", fox news watching, theme. I find it kind of corny, but if the people come....that is good enough to prove the business idea will work.

I like to go to specific news watching places and ask to change to the rival news channel....just to see people's reactions. It's funny.

 

Why is the wing pointing to the left in the logo?...
Or am I looking at it backwards?

 

Couldn't disagree more. Worst coffee on the planet, bar none. But that's just my opinion. I know some who question my salvation/patriotism for this opinion :laugh:

 

I love the breakfast blend.... I hope there is a starbucks in Heaven!

 

My coffee from a stop top expresso maker is much better than Starbucks. And coffee from Sumatra is always very good.

Almost any cafe in Prague makes better coffee than Starbucks.

Expresso and Czech honey cake, wonderful eating.

 

And, from my time there a few weeks ago, I give a hearty "Amen" to that. :thumbs:

 

My Mr. Coffe maker puts out a great Folger's Columbian Coffee that tastes darn good to me and is a whole lot cheaper than Star Bucks or any Christian Coffee House for that matter. I can't see putting out several dollars for a cup of joe that I can just as easily produce at my home.

 

I agree with you TomVols, I have never understood why people like Starbuck's so much.

I love coffee, and expresso, and all the blends but what I make at home is much better than Starbuck's. I have had coffee on four continents and in lots of different places. I like the coffee at Barnie's and other outlets but to me Starbuck's has a bitter aftertaste that to me anyway tastes like they overroasted it.

I think it is part of their roasting process because I taste the same bitterness in the Starbuck's coffee you can buy at the grocery.

:laugh: I just remembered a few years ago one of the "old timers" here in NC told me he had not had a decent cup of coffee since they stopped carring green coffee beans at the stores. He said it was all in the roasting and if you did not roast your own it just wasn't coffee.

I have had "home roasted" coffee made from green beans in Hati where we had to roast the beans before we could grind them. It was awesome. They served it expresso style in little bitty cups with cane syrup for sweetener. It was awesome. I had some without the syrup because I preferr black coffee and even though it was thick as asphalt there was no bitterness at all.

We have a coffee house in town scheduled to open in September.

 

Oh, that reminds me I love Cuban coffee made the way you described with the syrup!
I even bought one of the cuban coffee pots in order to make it... It is too strong for most.. but perfect for me!

 

Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts are a toss up for #1 to me. Starbucks is awesome! I usually buy a gift card at Giant Eagle so I get the fuelperks

 

Hey I just got a dollar off of my Folger's coffee from one of the Google generated ad's. Finally an ad that I can click on instead of the meet "Christian Hotties" or the "Vote of King Obama" ones.

 

My first Starbucks coffee was in Cleveland...
At the Cleveland Clinic, when my son was having brain surgery...

 

I'm w/you NCT; black is the only way to go!! Rarely, extremely rarely, I will sweeten a cup with some local honey, and that'll do me for at least a year.

First time I ever tried Starbucks was in Taiwan while on a mission trip in, I think, '99.

I fail to see the rabid attraction, as it was good, but certainly not as good as the price would imply.

 

Two of my kids worked for Starbucks. Starbucks coffee gives me a headache. COSTCO coffee tastes just fine for half the price.
