James Dobson has lost his power

I think the new evangelical is looking at people such as Rick Warren and not to the old guard of Dobson, Robertson, and Hagee they have produced a rotted harvest of politicized people who are intolerant.

as for the rain if the farmers pray they need rain, I say Lord give the farmer rain and not pray a prayer of waste and hate that prayer has fallen like a lightning bolt back to the ground.

Dobson, Robertson and Hagee have done great harm to the cause of Christ in our modern world.

Dobson is also our brother in Christ and he's done a lot of good for many families. The pastoral care department of Focus on the Family has been a blessing to my family more than once. So we don't agree with him on every little detail. That doesn't make him a worthless hatemongers. Good grief.

    I agree.

Now with that said let us look closely at the article.
Dr. Dobson was not the one who was praying for rain
it was Stuart Shepard who was a former TV meteorologist
who wanted us all to pray for torrential rain(not tornadoes).
and he admitted later that it was childish and "if people
took it seriously we regret it." Yes there were complains
    and the video was removed.

    Was he wrong? Yes
    Can we forgive him? Yes

He is a godly man, that's for sure. He wrote a book called Bringing up Boys which I highly recommend. He really loves children.
He is aging so his discretion will probably reflect that.

Only to those who prefer the "modern world" over the Christian one.

Forgive him for what? For having a sense of humor?

    Not necessary.

Liberals should lighten up. They take themselves much too seriously.

    Not necessary.

Dopson is spot on in most instances to include his forays into the political arena. He's more disliked for this than anything else. Those of a more liberal slant don't like to hear the truth. With that said it would be stupid to pray for the flooding of Denver. There are a lot of Godly people living in Denver who would be hurt right along with the demos who are meeting there.

Did you read the article? James Dobson didn't ask anyone to pray for this "rain."

    The reality of Gods Will

It looks as if today and tonight the farmer does not need the rain in the grand scheme of things, but we do need to pray for the Gulf and the dissipation of Gustav so the Republican convention and those in the Gulf do not have to be anxious, amen:thumbs:

Dr. Dobson, has the greatest voice I know of in defending the unborn, promoting the family, and attracting converts to The Lord. Sure, he's a man and thus fallible, but he certainly did nothing wrong in this instance...

Not to get off topic, (sorry) but FTR, I have to take my endorsement of Dr. Dobson's parenting book back. I don't recommend it

I like Dobson's books and other works...
But I abhor FotF's "Plugged in" reviews, so I can't love everything about him.

    (Just most of it.)

Then who on earth have you been listening too??!!

What I think would be funny....is if there was serious weather at the Republican National Convention.
