Whenever I do a scan, there is one that will not be quarantined. It is CWS.smartsearch, it is a hijacker with a low to medium threat level. Whenever I click "quarantine", it comes up I have to reboot and run the scan again, and repeat if necessary. Well, after hours of doing this, it is still there. How do I get rid of this stupid thing?

Might try a boot into safe mode and scan. What antivirus are you using? You should be able to go to there web page and search for smartsearch for instructions.

    Go BROWNS!

I am trying to tell ya'll that I have CCcleaner, and Spybot, and i still use them....but I also have a paid version of Advancedsystem care that finds way more stuff than the other two do, and there is a legal 6 month subscription that you can get, for free.

PM me if you want the key codes

I am just trying to help

Give that a shot. It is one of the best. The free version does not provide ongoing protection, but it still has the full scan of the paid version.

A couple of years ago, I got hijacked by Cool Web Search. With a little searching, I ran across CW Shredder. It's a free download. I did, ran it and killed that booger.

I installed ccleaner, spybot and advanced systemcare...and it's still there.
