I'd pop in a Rob Bell Nooma video and let the games begin! :D

Or do a series like Andy Stanley's Choosing to Cheat or The Sinai Code. Honestly something DVD based with discussion afterward is a really healthy option imho.

I'll say before I get a brick(s) thrown my way...

then don't worry I was being funny. He's a pastor in Michigan.

But seriously I don't know your context. I would suggest a video based series as a 4-6 week time to gather your thoughts and arrange a good teaching schedule. But if that isn't available...

why not just open to Psalm 1, read it, give minor expositional thought, and ask: "Well what do you think?"

Our people need to be in more dialogue than a monologue anyways. :)

Picking from 66 books helps people know their Bible better. Many topical studies do nothing to facilitate that. People must know their Bible to share it with others.

    OK.

I appreciate your suggestions. If anyone has anything else, that would be great.

How about picking a 3 or 4 people for each week and asking them to share what they have been covering in their personal bible study. Intersperse the mini devotions with some singing, tesimonies, bible readings and prayer. I am personally not a fan of DVD's and ready-to-teach material. It's just another way of spoon-feeding Christians and keeping them lazy and ineffective.

I would definitely not choose Rob Bell. He is quite controversial. Bell does not think the Bible is God's word and he recommends a book by a New Ager in Velvet Elvis, which I've read.

Bell is one of the leading representatives of the liberal emergent church.

Good idea. There are several really good books out there that you good use. The first that comes to mind is Gordon Fee's How to read the Bible for all it's worth.
