An IPOD. And she already has one!

    http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/toby_h...bamas_gift_for_the_queen_an_ipod_your_majesty

    ROFL, ROFL! :laugh::laugh::laugh:

I apologize to the people of the UK for the stupidity of the electorate who pushed this bumbling buffoon into the highest office in our land. Perhaps we need to be under the rule of the crown once again.

The Beverly Hillbillies visit the Royal Palace, lol.

(OTOH, that's an insult to my hillbilly kin, lol).

One place I am sure Old Queenie will never visit again is Dallas, TX. She came years ago when there was a big conflict going on to go to a 10-4 council-manager type city government [bicameral districts-- 10 "small" districts + 4 "large" districts], while the loudest black leaders demanded (and eventually got) all single-member districts with no overlapping. The queen went to a reception and she became the object of all the minority anger, and she saw and heard all the derogatory signs and chants. But she still got the gift the reception committee arranged... an $8000 tea set! I'm sure she needed one.

I am sorry that you would refer to our president as a bumbling buffoon. In the first place, he is anything but that, but is a gracious, careful, articulate gentleman and statesman. But even if he were inept, it is less than helpful and certainly less than Christlike to use such terminology. On this April Fool's Day, I am reminded of what our Lord said about what we call one another.

I am sorry you can't see the forest for the trees. :) You got what you voted for. He promised to "change" our image for the world. That he has. We are becoming a laughingstock.

Obama is only articulate when he has a teleprompter, Gracious in appearance only when it is politically expedient, and a statesman to those who support his ungodly and unconstitutional agenda. How anyone could see one who supports the holocaust in this country as a statesman is beyond me.

As far as the Queen goes we could always give her our constitution. We aren't using it anyway.

What country are you living in?

An Ipod for the Queen of England? Who thought that up? Maybe appropriate for the Queen's grandchildren or something at a birthday party, but there is no excuse for this.

Didn`t he give the Prime Minister (Gordon Brown ) some DVDs ....... which are not compatable with British DVD players ?
" One place I am sure Old Queenie will never visit again is Dallas"
PS. I think it is disrespectful to call Queen Elizabeth "Old Queenie" please refrain from using that expression.

Bush's gift to the Queen was a useless war in which hunders of Her Majesty's troops were killed.

Would you have rather him given a signed picture of himself like she did? Personally, I'd rather have an ipod than a signed picture.

Oh, and you all seem to completely look over the update on that page as well:

OK...so the Queen gave him a signed picture and he gave her an ipod and a "rare songbook". Sounds like his is of much better value. Maybe someone should tell the Queen her gifts <edited to "stinks' LE>.

Mrs. JC, your son snuck back into the house again and is pestering the adults with his pitiful attempts to condemn Bush!!! (Mercy, what did you & Mr. JC say about Bush when you didn't think little JC was listening?)

Please put some toys in the sandbox that he likes; like a doll of GWB!

Maybe if he had that for the sandbox to vent his frustrations, he wouldn't keep sneaking into the house and trying to play in adult conversation.

    PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!

    LE,

It does not matter who our president is at the time. Know this well: we are the most hated nation on earth.

Thanks for beating me to it Matt, imagine if Obama had given her a signed picture. The right would demand he be impeached. I like how they only mention the IPOD and not the rare song book. Leave it to the right to tell part of the story.

One would think if one wasn't so arrogant, one would tell his staff to get with Her Majesty's staff and find out what an appropriate gift would be. Or he could have asked Hillary (former first lady), at least the Clintons had a little more class in certain (not all) matters.

An IPOD and DVDs might be considered "kewl" by certain groups, i.e., the teeny bopper crowd, but are not appropriate adult gifts to be given to dignitaries and Heads of State. This is one more example of his narcissim and arrogance. He is an insult to those who are past puberty. It was a blunder that could have been easily avoided had he not been so arrogant and sought advice from people who have experience in these matters.

    Bolded mine

We all know what happened after Solomon died & his son began to reign!

"2Ch 10:10 And the young men who had grown up with him spoke to him, saying, You shall say this to the people who have spoken to you, saying, Your father made our yoke heavy, and you lighten our yoke, this you shall say to them, My little finger is thicker than the loins of my father;---"

And, as one old wise man once said in Ecc 1:9 --- "That which has been, it is that which shall be. And that which has been done, it is that which will be done. And there is no new thing under the sun."

Not seeking advice in a new endeavor is the epitome of arrogance; a trait becoming more & more obvious in our "OJT" president.

Does anybody know what gift President Bush gave the Queen? Does anybody what gift President Bush gave any leader? Does this really matter, or is it merely another way to bash Obama?

One thing that hasn't received much air play. The IPOD was loaded with pictures, and I think movies of the queens visit to America. So for a woman that probably has every trinket one could want, I can see where she might like some personal memories to enjoy rather than some stuffy gift that would be put into storage.

I must say that President Obama is WELL RESPECTED in Canada. He represented the USA with dignity and personality both with government and the people. We are expecting a far better relationship with the USA as time passes.

As far as a gift to the Queen is concerned it really is none of your business. How do you know the Queen would look down on the gift, even if it was only a feather?

He has been well received in England and by royalty. Our Prime Minister and President Obama had a private dinner with the Queen quite apart from the regular meeting of the conference. I think that says something, doesn't it?

The only distastefull thing I see is the attitude of some Americans. That disgusts me. At least Mr. Obama is talking to other governments and we didn't see that in the former 8 years, except for a few elite people, and I don't care what branch of political persuasion your government leader happens to be. He is leading in tough times, not of his making, and he is keeping in step in a cordial manner.

    Cheers,

    Jim
