Some here seem to have a need to crown the President as king or to worship him as a god. Why do you feel the need to do that?

It is childish to make up silly names about Obama, or anyone else for that matter. Obama gives us enough to criticize without having to make up stupid names. Just stick to the issues and criticisms will be taken much more seriously.

On the same vein, preachers don't refer to satan as something like "Looney Lucifer" or "Dumbo the Devil" because it would detract from the real issues about satan.

Wasn't it Louis Farrakhan who first called Obama "the Messiah"? Obama seems to have that messiah-like quality his followers and believers fawn upon. Perhaps you should ask them.

J/C, you have recently accused Bush of not being a Christian, with nothing to back it up. You have called the troops he sent to war "murderers". Now you whine when Obama is criticized.

That's what worship is, dude. And that's why we accuse you of doing so.

I don't know who called him "messiah" first, but I do know it wasn't Farrakhan (not that I like Farrakhan or anything). Sean Hannity called Obama "messiah" months before Farrakham ever did. Hannity is the first reference I can find of "messiah", but there could have been previous uses.

No you haven't. I've never called him that. You do all the time. Is Obama your messiah?

Farrakhan didn't call Obama the Messiah. He called him the sign of the Messiah. There is a big difference...

Actually I'm not sure what he said. It's hard to tell. Here's the quote:

we saw video during the campaign of followers calling him the messiah, theres more to it then just naming him 'messiah', some act like it, treat him like it, defend him as to doing no wrong(perfect like Jesus), bowing down to all he says(to the point of violating scripture, placing his words above God's, putting a god before the true God.). If this isn't worship, what is.

Where did you get that from? WND...

    Looks like only the 49 sec version is online now but if you were to hear the full clip what you would hear after the 49 seconds and after what you posted is this;

"Brother and sisters to me, Barak Obama is the herald of the Messiah. Barak Obama is like the trumpet that alerts you that something new, something better is on the way"

I snatched that quote from this thread http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=53875&highlight=Farrakhan+Obama+Messiah&page=2 where we discussed this during the election.

I will keep looking for the entire clip, you can see where the 49 second version is being clipped to leave you with the impression he is calling Obama the messiah. If you listen to what he says immediately after, it is clear that is now what Farrakhan what doing...

Like I said I wasn't sure of his meaning. I didn't get the quote from WND. You won't find me quoting from there if I can help it :).

    Thanks for further clarification.

I apologize but I can't find the full clip. Just the one that ends where your quote did. That is strange. If you could hear the complete clip no doubt would be left in your mind. Farrakhan clear goes on to say Obama is the Herald or sign of the messiah and didn't call him the messiah.

Looks like present tense to me.

It's a little ironic that it was the Jew hating Farrakhan that referred to Obama as the "messiah".

And then, of course, there's Obama himself:

    Lebanon, New Hampshire.
    January 7, 2008.

Ok, but you really have to consider the very next sentence. The one that is clipped on everyone of these video's. I wonder why they clipped it there? Is it because it ends the messiah conspiracy?

I;m asking the question. I don't do this. Only the far right Republicans on this board refer to him as their king or messiah.
