he Obama administration's policy of producing ethanol as a renewable fuel substitute for gasoline will add to the number of people in Third World countries who are chronically hungry, according to energy experts.

The administration's mandates for the use of ethanol are "immoral," asserts Robert Bryce, managing editor of the monthly industry magazine Energy Tribune.

"We are burning food to make motor fuel at a time when there's a growing global shortage of food and no shortage of motor fuel," Bryce told WND.

"The corn ethanol scam is not an energy program," he continued. "It is a massive farm subsidy program masquerading as an energy program."

This whole ethanol thing is stupid in my opinion and it does drive up food costs.

However, how is this Obama's policy? The article that you linked to certainly has Obama's name in the title, but the facts in the article predate him as President.

Ethanol being required in Gasoline has been in effect since last year.

It was George W. Bush that announced the mandate to use ethanol in his 2007 State of the Union speech.

Again, stupid policy, but let's put blame where it belongs.

The Czar can change the policy on ethanol. He already has on anything related to the defense of the unborn and the defense of the United States.

Yes, I agree. Policies and mandates can change. But, what we are reading about in this article has to do with a mandate already in place since before Obama came to office.

100% agreement here. Bush was as much (well, almost anyway) a Globalist as the "0", BUT, the "0" has reversed policy on those agendas (Abortion funding fer instance) that he didn't agree with, so, SO, if he refuses to invalidate this policy, then he is in fact agreeing with it.

It seem that the enviros, of whatever stripe, are far more interested in sending civilization back to the 1600's than the are about truly taking care of the planet!

I personally think that this is just one more instance of a facet of the public being un-wittingly (?) used as "useful idiots" than any real danger they protest against.

One more rock in the gears of civilization that will help the "one-worlders" surreptiously achieve their goal!

    MARANATHA!!!!
