I find that talking about the flood back in Genesis is a good way to talk to folks about the Lord. No missing links, and ALL scientist agree SOMETHING CATASTROPHIC happened on Earth before. Yet some think that was impossible ect. ect. Any good scientific facts that point to the flood you have to share?:type:

It's totally amazing that if one simply believes what God told us, so many questions about the past are answered!

But, if one believes the Bible, then one has to acknowledge that there is a power far greater than man, and this does not set very well for man to be able to "do his thing" and yet have no conscience to pester him later with guilt!

The following quote from Aldous Huxley is very illustrative of said point:

If we would simply believe WHAT, God said, without applying our own qualifying factors, life could be so much simpler and serene!!!!

    Matter of fact---yes

    I don't think there's any documentation on the evidence I observed---but

A while back my wife and I took the kids to DeSoto Cavern in Childersburg, Alabama and while touring through-----I saw an upside down fossel-------there was a low ceiling I was walking through and having to duck my head to pass--------and while looking up----I saw it---a fossel on the rock formation just inches from my head

From what I figure------the little creature was "plastered" to the ceiling some sort of way---when the flood waters came "suddenly" upon the earth

"From what I figure------the little creature was "plastered" to the ceiling some sort of way---when the flood waters came "suddenly" upon the earth" Cool this is what I like to talk about. I have seen on Fox News from time to time about the past that scientist have "discovered". One article was about the dinosaurs heads was arched back like they suffocated some how. Hummm......the Flood? :type:

I have read that mammoths have been found in Siberia with undigested vegetation in their stomach. I have always believed that as part of the flood GOD tilted the axis of the earth, therefore, bringing a sudden climate change to the polar regions. Don't know that I have ever read of anything like this but who knows? GOD alone.

I have no specific details, except to note that there is evidence virtually everywhere that all areas of land have at some time been under water.

Virtually any fossil evidence in rock, shows evidence of burial by water, I would think.

I have a friend who says if you want scientific proof of the flood, just look at the grand canyon. He claims the grand canyon was obviously created in the flood. I don't believe that but he does.

I used to consider proof to be that most all major civilizations has a story about a huge flood at about the same time, thinking that other people experienced it. Not sure what to think about that now. If they really experienced it, there would have to be other survivors.

HUH?? If God chose that Noah and his family would be the survivors then why would there have to be other survivors? Read the Bible and understand It is the Word of God.

Simple! All major civilizations came from Noah. It is understandable that stories of the great Flood would have been passed down.

Things can get so complicated when you try to prove that God is lying; can't understand why some folk just absolutely refuse to accept what God has said!!??

From what I understand the stories from the other cultures were written in their language, in their part of the world, right after or possibly during the flood, and most never mentioned Noah and actually had their own wildly varying versions of who survived. I'm just saying that it would be in error to view this as proof that we're talking about the same flood because for this situation to occur, there would have to be other survivors, which they claim, and the bible says there wasn't. It has nothing to do with not accepting what God said, it's accepting it as truth then realizing that perhaps some of these other stories may not measure up. Thanks for the benefit of the doubt though folks.

All I'm saying is that just by knowing those other stories existed I used to think that is proof, but if you read more about it, it doesn't back up the same story. Read those differenet cultures on that page, many of them have their own version of who exactly survived the flood. Since there were different survivors, they are not talking about the same flood.

But couldn't these stories have been told after the Flood and mtutated over time? They didn't match up to the story in Genesis but that doesn't mean that these stories were not based on it.

I agree they are not proof of the Flood, but they could be a sort of evidence for its possibility, just from a secular view.

I don't think there is any question that the flood existed. There is plenty of geological evidence in that area. The question that arises is the universality of the flood. Some of us believe it was a local flood.

Other parts of the unknown world went through geological changes including an ice age over North America which created the caverns and cliffs that we experience in many areas.

I am not saying that humans occupied these lands, but animals certainly did. Hence, the Noahic version of all generations of humanity stemming from the sons of Noah stands as recorded in scripture.

    Cheers,

    Jim

If the Flood happen is never a debate to me,I just like seeing through spiritual eyes what most scientist miss altogether. 2 Peter 3:5-6 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished. Its cool to see articles that you can see the fingerprints of Genesis rather than speculations.

I find it strange that with a worms eye view of the Martian landscape scientists could predict a global flood on Mars. Yet with all the evidence on earth these same scientists deny a global flood on earth simply because it is in the Bible.

A short study of "Geographic Province" proves you wrong.

    look up these Geographic features:

    SHIELD
    PLATFORM
    OROGEN
    BASIN

BASIN & PLATFORM both involve sedimentation
