    Good link.

The Reds recently moved their AA affiliation from Chattanooga to Carolina. My brother in law lives in Chattanooga, and that was a nice yard. So I don't get to see my future Reds when I visit. However, the Cubs AA affiliate is in my town and managed by Ryne Sandberg. I hate that they moved from downtown Knoxville (half hour from me) to 20 mins east at the exit that takes you to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg and renamed them the Tennessee Smokies. That's now almost an hour's drive for me.

Rockford's current minor league team is not affiliated with any major league team. We currently have the Rockford Riverhawks of the Frontier League. In the past we have had the Rockford Expos, Rockford Reds, and Rockford cubbies. Yes all affiliated with their major league namesake.

Our minor league Hockey team is the Icehogs which are affiliated with the Blackhawks.

    Thanks....Bill

What's weird is when the Mobile Bay Bears first came to Mobile, they were a AA team for the San Diego Padres. I've noticed that they are now a team for the Diamondbacks.

We used to have a semi-pro baseball team here called the Mobile Bay Sharks. They never played well. In fact, one of my friends attended a game where the Bay Sharks got into a brawl in their own dugout. I have never heard of a team that brawls amongst themselves.

We also used to have an ECHL (East Coast Hockey League) team here called the Mobile Mysticks. I don't think they were part of any NHL team though. From what I heard the Mobile Mysticks moved to Atlanta.

We go to see the Aberdeen Ironbirds (Orioles), the Wilmington Blue Rocks (Kansas City), and the Camden Riversharks (Independent) all the time.

Sometimes, we'll even go up to see the Trenton Thunder (Yankees) play.

My brother in law and I have shared season tickets for the Phillies for years, but our family is so big that it's hard to get individual tickets together, but not big enough to qualify for group tickets.

I'm a baseball junkie, so I could go every day, but it's really nice having the minor league teams around. Very cheap and easy to get tickets to.

You also get to see former major league stars after their career. We got to see Ricky Henderson and Jose Canseco many times when they came to Camden.

When I was a boy, my dad and/or my grandfather and I would go to see the Barons at least once a week.

Friday night, we'd go to BIR to watch the races and Saturday, we'd go to Rickwood Field to watch the Barons play.

I remember back in the early 2000's going and watching the Louisville Riverbats (Reds) play Buffalo (Indians) for their Leagues pennent.

The Reds were stinking so bad that year they were actually feeding the Bats players to try and help them...talk about role reversal.

We have the Jacksonville Suns here in Jax, FL .. who are the minor league affiliate of the Marlins!

We just started with the Marlins .. we use to be the Dodgers for a long time. Both teams usually have great prospects though, so I'm good either way.

Currently Jax is a AA team. I remember back in the mid '60's the Suns were in the International League ( AAA )

No, but I would listen to the radio when the Syracuse Chiefs would play them.

PS, but my pastor at Zweibruecken Bap (in Germany) was from Jacksonville - Ralph L. Balir
