I heard some say that any image of Christ anywhere is a violation of the 2nd commandment. What does everyone here think?

Hmmmmm.....well, I teach Vacation Bible School and Bible classes at a Christian school and we use large picture cards to help with Bible stories. I don't think that's a violation of the 2 commandment.

And I have some older Bibles that have pictures of various scenes in them. I think that's OK.

But, I can personally say that I would not have a picture of Jesus hanging in my house (not the white one or the black one - Ha!!) because we have no idea what He looked like.

I do think that some people, not me, might come to fear the image or the wall hanging and not the God, Himself. You know, if they were in the same room as the picture they wouldn't curse or lie because Jesus would be "looking" at them, but as soon as they left the room - they would feel "safe".

    That's my two cents.
