    Continued from another thread.

    http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=59820

I know that the LA "terror plot" you refer to was another sham scare tactic, in a long line of sham scare tactics of the Bush administration.

Outraged intelligence professionals say President George W. Bush is "cheapening" and "politicizing" their work with claims the United States foiled a planned terrorist attack against Los Angeles in 2002.

The President has cheapened the entire intelligence community by dragging us into his fantasy world," says a longtime field operative of the Central Intelligence Agency. "He is basing this absurd claim on the same discredited informant who told us Al Qaeda would attack selected financial institutions in New York and Washington."

    < snip >

Within hours of the President’s speech Thursday claiming his administration had prevented a major attack, sources who said they were current and retired intelligence pros from the CIA, NSA, FBI and military contacted Capitol Hill Blue with angry comments disputing the President’s remarks.

    SOURCE...

    The people of LA, Huh?

The mayor of LA himself disagrees with you, now how about that? You know it might not be such a bad idea if you do a little fact checking before you the take the government and corporate media's propaganda and fantasies as the truth.

I agree with you Poncho. Quoted from the article you posted:
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Former DHS secretary Tom Ridge admits the U.S. raised terror alerts for the wrong reasons and now says he often disagreed with the timing of such alerts but was overruled by the White House.

"More often than not we were the least inclined to raise it," Ridge says. "Sometimes we disagreed with the intelligence assessment. Sometimes we thought even if the intelligence was good, you don't necessarily put the country on alert, There were times when the White House was really aggressive about raising it, and we said, 'For that?' We often lost the argument."

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

Who knew more about national security threats than the Head of Homeland Security? Most of these "terror alerts" were politically motivated and designed to ensure Bush's reelection. I remember one which I believe occurred in Aug. or Sept. of 2004 for the city of New York. I was in that area at that time and nobody saw any reason for an elevated concern other than for political reasons.

Churchill said during WW2 that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. That was a great rallying cry for the besieged British people.

Bush's rallying cry was be afraid all the time. You never know when the bogey man is going to get you.

I suppose the attacks on the subways in the UK and train attack in Spain was fake, too, and the night club in Bali, the attack in India.

The Buffalo 5 was a fake and the plan for the Space Needle in Seattle was fake, too.

    Okay.

They will NEVER be convinced about anything. When it comes to something our government says---it's all a lie---except now that Obama is in office. And of course a Mayor knows more about our National secuirty info then the FBI, CIA, Naval intelligence or other. We had 3 people(terroists) known terrorists waterboarded for information or possible info on things that might be planned for the future as for attacks on our country. I'll let the results of us NOT being attacked for the last 8 years speak for me. You want to take the risk of not waterboarding a terrorist and then have something happen?---Not me and neither do most Americans. Waterboarding or not isn't going to change how Al Queda feels about us. Maybe Poncho and others should go and try to reason with them or gain intelligence by being nice.:BangHead:

I believe we're talking about predicted terrorist attacks not real ones. Bush had the same weakness. He couldn't distinguish reality from his own created "reality."

you are so wrapped up in your conspiracy theories that it has affected your reason. I suspect everything in the reference post is the figment of the writers imagination. However, it is a fact that there were some rogue elements in the CIA leaking classified information to the NY Times.

Another example of some in the the CIA trying to hurt President Bush was the Valerie Plame affair. They knew there was no crime committed but they referred it to the justice Department anyhow. Predictably the Justice department appointed a Special Persecutor, determined to shaft someone. Meanwhile the man who leaked Plames name, cohort of Colin Powell Richard Armitage, sat quietly by while Fitzgerald found someone to persecute .

You're saying that you trust your own political bias more than the man who headed up the Dept. of Homeland Security at that time? YOU'RE the one who will NEVER accept REALITY.

Hmm. Rogue elements in the CIA. Sounds like a conspiracy theory.

Yeah everybody is out to get poor George. It's pretty much a foregone conclusion now he used the terror threat alert system for political reasons. The 28 perecenters amongst us will never admit that. They can't. If they admit he lied about one thing they'll have to question everything and as we all know by now questioning Bush and Cheney's integrity is unpatriotic and un-american. "If you aren't with us you're with the terrorists" G.W. Bush.

As far as the 7/7 London tube and Madrid bombings go LE all I have time say right now is the evidence doesn't line up with the propaganda. It never did.

What are the odds of the "authorities" running a major terror drill using the exact same scenerio at the exact same time as the London tube bombings? Care to make a guess?

Did you guess one chance in 3,715,592,613,265,750,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000?

Let me ask you all something...

How many here believe in man made global warming? Raise your hands.

Most of us here (excluding bleeding hearts of course) know it's all a scam but the politicians and media keep right on repeating the same ole lie don't they? Why? Because if the lie is repeated long enough and often enough people will eventually believe it. Even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Like most of you all do about the big scam aka the GWOT.

If we believe torture is ok then we are admitting our founding principles and things we stood for were failures. If you're willing to admit that, then lets forget any claims of being better than the terrorist and start setting bombs in their public buildings and everything they do...

We shouldn't stick one toe over the line, if we want to be on the other side of the line then lets go to the other side...
