When he speaks at Michael Jackson's memorial service, "Rev." Al Sharpton will call upon the president to declare a national day of mourning for Michael. He will also call upon the Postal Service to issue a commemorative stamp for Michael. Pardon me while I go and throw up.

==Al Sharpton seriously over estimates his importance and the general importance of Michael Jackson. To most Americans Jackson was just a singer who died because he did not take care of himself and Sharpton is a pretend minister who jumps on every racial bandwagon he can.

If I were Black, I'd resent the image some of these 'in your face' give us in talking down to the rest of us, presenting us as victims and treating us like we're stupid and can't think for ourselves, and denying those who are truely worthy from being our role models for our children while raising up those who should not.

Actually, I give many Blacks a lot of credit for seeing through this smoke screen by these 'leaders' who are set up more for looks and the media for promoting divisions rather than helping us to focus on the unity which we feel with so many of our 'peers' without regard to color.

In fact, I'd resent the race card.... as even I do: There is one race to which I belong and that is 'human race'. If someone needs to know more because of genetic or language differences then there are other ways of finding that out: For example, in medicine..... get a family health history which will tell more about what physical ailments I might be susceptible to rather than trying to 'type' me according to 'race'. If its language, then ask me what is my native tongue: What ever color I might be, it matters less than where I was raised and the culture of language which surrounded me regarding communication.

There is one race to which I belong and that is the human race. God made us all of one blood. We are all above the animals, and a little lower than the angels...... yet God has favored us with the gift of his son in whom we of faith have become a united family!

Stop playing the 'race' card. By focusing on 'race' one creates the very appearance of divisions and sterotyping which all of us are trying to get around and which are proven to be false presumptions:

If 'race' determines whether I'm rich or poor, ignorant or educated, a leader or a follower, healthy or sick..... then I am a victim of genetics and not of society. If I'm a victim of society and not genetics, maybe its because of leaders within different 'races' (including my own) who are arrogant and make a distinction and force it upon society attitudes in the form of preferential treatment or divisions based upon superficiality.

Not to mention every highway, biway, street, boulevard, road, bipass, alleyway and dirt road being renamed

And to boot-----every airport in the US that is not named yet to be named---I can see it now---"I'm flyin' into Micheal Jackson International!!!!"

    "Yeh, me, too!!!"

"You flyin' into LA or Atlanta????"

    "Sucks, No, Maaaaaan!!! DEE-troit!!!!!"

Might as well go ahead and put him on coinage, too!!!!

    'sarcasm' understood :)

Turning someone (MJ) who escapes reality and lives his adult life like a childhood fantasy: Who either is a pedophile or has acknowledged sleeping with children and has had 5 different accusations: To try to make HIM a role model for all Blacks by memorializing his name when there are other famous, moral, responsible and intelligent Black folks to choose from..... is to 'dumb down' the image of all Blacks.......many of whom know better and would prefer more noble characters to be the role models for their youth.

Why isn't there any mention of Fredrick Douglass? Though long gone.... he was a role model and far advanced from his times as to his thinking. What a noble specimen for people of color to be proud of and to emmulate as a role model of statesmanship, faith in God, and balance in moral responsibility!
According to this article, he was even nominated to run in a presidential election!
Shapton and Jackson do little more than feed the division and the false belief that there is a difference by race. To a person like Fredrick Douglass...... the very acknowledgement of race and making a difference based upon that is creating a difference and a division which is wrong, and a tool of man's own making...... not God.

Equality believed by Shapton and J.Jackson? NO! They, among others, are divisionist, racists and promote segregation by preferential treatment! They neither extol the virtues of a Frederick Douglass nor do they have the moral character in themselves to judge role models for others of color. Perhaps Douglass is ignored because in later life he married a WHITE woman: Perhaps they ignored Douglass who saw that within the merits of the already existing constitution was sufficient argument to support the abolition of slavery. Perhaps they ignore Douglass because he was the noble epitomy of moral integrity and conservatism, and more supportive of Republicanism during his own generation.

J.Jackson is a socialist and no doubt Sharpton is also. Neither really support those positions which would strengthen our country or acknowledge the brotherhood and unity we Christians feel beyond our genetic differences of skin color, or hair color, or eye color.

[Off topic but a question I have for J. Jackson: With his familiarity with Washington, DC, and the criticisms for other historic emblems, such as the Confederate Flag.....where ever displayed and for whatever purpose...... I'm sure he's aware of the statue of Albert Pike:
Why doesn't he complain about that? Doesn't he know of Pike's association with the KKK (which seems to have been 'scrubbed' from most internet sources on the KKK and Albert Pike)?
HERE Jesse......is it because YOU are a mason high in the order and one doesn't go against another 'brother'. Aren't YOU (JJ) being a hypocrite with your double standards. Do people of color know of this, or will you(JJ) keep promoting their ignorance and division towards race and hate?]

Actually, from what I see, there are far more other races celebrating the life of Michael. He is being mourned all around the world. Not sure why your comment only mentions blacks??? I think Michael quit the black race and decided to be other.
