    http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2009-07-07-palin-poll_N.htm

quotehe poll Monday of 1,000 adults — including 321 Democrats, 323 independents and 316 Republicans — has a margin of error of +/–3 percentage points for the full sample and 6 points for the partisan subsamples.

Palin's complaints about unfair treatment by the news media resonate with many respondents. Three-fourths of Republicans, more than half of independents and a third of Democrats say coverage of Palin has been unfairly negative.

When it comes to a potential presidential run, the USA TODAY Poll displays Palin's strength in the Republican base and weakness among swing voters, who traditionally decide national elections. Republicans by 71%-27% say they'd be likely to vote for her if she ran for president in 2012, while independents by 51%-44% would not."

Democrats hope Sarah Palin won't be a national figure because they are afraid of her. She just doesn't fit their mold of a successful woman, you know, one who slaughters her unborn!

You are wrong! There is nothing we democrats would like better than to see this ding-bat actually win the republican nomination in 2012.

Why does one call a woman that holds to traditional family values and promotes a right to life agenda in the public arena call her a ding-bat and hangs with a left leaning party that does all it can to undermine all that is traditional and godly in our nation? Robert, the ding-bats you hang with have turned the whole world upside down. But that is the way you like it, isn't it? Upside down! Gay agendas, Abortion at will, government owned banks and business yes indeed only ding-bats see the upside down world as upright.

The Bible says that people will call evil good, and good evil...

    The Democrats have perfected this...

I'm not gonna jump on her bandwagon- but I'm not gonna rain on her parade either.

I'd love to see a good solidly conservative third-party candidate but it seems that the Dems and Reps have all the serious $ locked up.

Really? I think most Democrats would be THRILLED if Palin is the GOP nominee for POTUS in 2012!

    PALIN '12!!

I also would add that with all the sex scandals, I think the GOP has forfeited the "family values" position they had tried to stake out, unless the family in question is the Hugh Hefner family.

The only reason I would like to see Palin on the republican ticket is because I don't think she can win. I would be shocked however to see her survive the primaries, pleased, but shocked! I don't think she is smart enough.

Just what we need, another thread that argues the virtues between Republicans and Democrats. Really some deep thought. For those posters putting the Republicans on the high ground, lets use some of those Republicans out of a job or soon to be out of a job on the Board of Directors of the Moral Majority, Vitter, Ensign, Craig, Sanford, and Foley among others.

And as for those defending the Democrats, especially the one that used the term "ding bat", that is a perfect description of your party that does not do one thing according to the Constitution. The only reason you were put in power is that the other party did such a louzy job. The Demcorats have no new ideas other than to spend us in oblivion, and put government in charge of areas of our lives and economy they have no business in. That is aside from being a collection of moral degenerates.

OK, you historical scholars can go back to discussing the virtues of each side.

I admit, I could be wrong, but as of now, that's the way I see it.

Well, until a revolution happens and we have a third party with a legitimate shot at winning a presidential race, we're stuck with this two-party system. Neither has a perfect platform, nor perfect members.

However, it is apparent to even the most casual observer- at least to those who have eyes that are willing to see- that the Dems AND Reps have BOTH moved further to the left, although the Reps have not moved nearly as far, party-wise.

Palin is not God, she isn't perfect, and I may not even vote for her IF she does run. But she IS a 'breath of fresh air' amongst the 'cookie-cutter' types we have foisted upon us most of the time.
