    Issa to Emanuel: Back Off!
    August 4, 2009

    WASHINGTON. D.C. – Following reports that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has been orchestrating an effort to intimidate members of Congress and Governors who raise legitimate concerns regarding the effectiveness of the stimulus, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Ranking Member Darrell Issa (R-CA) sent a letter to Emanuel saying “While this type of scare tactic may work In Chicago, it will not work to intimidate me or other Members of the United States Congress.”

    “I and others have dared to bring these facts to the attention of President Obama, the Congress and the American people,” Issa wrote. “You’ve unfortunately reacted by once again resorting to the playbook of the Chicago political machine.”

    Excellant letter.

    Would that more states and people in House and Senate would take a stand regardless of party afiliation against those in administration trying to strong arm and coerc them. Such whimps.... such liars ......such hypocrites...... most of them.

    I haven't been able to find anywhere a description of what Emanuel did to intimidate Issa, just this unsupported charge. Can you provide some examples of his intimidation tactics?

    School will be back in session in a month so maybe you can work on your reading skills.

    The article says that Emanuel is organizing the campaign against critics of Obama - not Issa specifically.

    If you were to actually read with comprehension the article linked in the OP you would see that there are two examples of the tactics provided.

    See "Letter from Ray LaHood, Secretary of Transportation" and "Letter from Ken Salazar, Secretary of the Interior".

    Incidentally I believe that in my dark past I referred to Obama as the little dictator among other assorted names. I was taken to the woodshed by an unnamed brother on this Forum, severely chastened, and now I refer to the little dictator as Obama. However, changing the name does not change the Chicago mob; as the OP shows!
