Can someone please explain or define what this word means? Everyone is calling me flaming. Flaming this, flaming that. I feel like an F-18(we call it the CF-18) burning out at 50,000.

Flaming is the practice of sending messages that are intended to be inflammatory.

Basically, in posts, it would be posting with the primary intent of offending people or otherwise upsetting them.

It would be like me going to a funeral and yelling smears and slurs against the deceased. It would be like me going to a meeting of a certain group and berating them with everything I can come up with.

It would be like me going to a Baptist discussion board and posting thread after thread outlining every single bad thing I can dig up or contrive against Baptists.

As one non-Baptist to another, thus far that seems to be what you do on this board, since you asked.

Thank you. You just proved my point. Almost everyone on here is then guilty of flaming-according to your definition. The worst being Rev Mitchell and Lady Eagle. Add DHK.

I do not agree with that statement.

There are people here who lose their objectivity and civility if favored Baptist precepts are challenged. I will grant you that.

I do not agree with you that most members here are guilty of flaming.
I do not agree with you that most members of this board are doing this.

Let me be the first to say "bye", as I sense your impending departure...

I doubt that you will be sorely missed.

I don't believe that you and I have had a conversation, although I have read several of your posts.

I'm not sure what points you think you have made that have made a difference one way or another.

You aren't the only Don Quixote that has come along. I, myself, have had those tendencies here from time to time.

It's just a message board, sir. Just a message board. There are no windmills here.

The term flaming became common early on in Internet days. It was and is a caustic reply to another .... as the second post said, an inflammatory post. It also indicated anger.

Yes, there are some here who are quite inflammatory and are so purposely, though I expect they would deny this. We all know who they are. It does not take long to determine this.

And, yes, I expect one or more flaming replies.

You have to take the flammers with a grain of salt and see the humor in their insecurity and feel sorry for their un-Christian hatred. Also, some are simply caught up in the "win at any cost" mentality in our current society. Too bad that the art of debate and conversation has been largely lost in our society.

Do not take anything they say personally. In their statements they are saying more about themselves then they are you.

    Completely off topic

    Be of good cheer.

If everyone here is so horrible, shinninglight (just what is shinning anyway?), why don't you just leave? You know how the saying goes...don't let the door hit you...

Crabby, glad to help prop up your self-righteous delusions.

inflammatory/noninflammatory a topical (above the surface) application

Just want to show that anything below the signature line is simply a signature, the above signature is off topic to this conversation, yet it is below Crabbytown's signature line, so it is not a comment toward the topic, but rather a general statement of his perception of a particular truth.

Now, having said that...often we forget that we are alike, yet different. Inflammatory to me may not be so to another, still yet, maybe I am merely too thin skinned and prone to receive everything differing from my idea of revealed truth as inflammatory.

Sorry, I really have no horse in this race...and that's sad coming from a Kyian.

Now, let's all just :1_grouphug: for a chorus of Koom-bah-yah!!!
