The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 31% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-nine percent (39%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -8 (see trends).

Fifty-eight percent (58%) of liberals Strongly Approve while 66% of conservatives Strongly Disapprove.

Forty-two percent (42%) say the President is doing a good or an excellent job on economic matters. Forty-three percent (43%) say he’s doing a poor job in that area. As for national security, the numbers are 43% good/excellent and 36% poor.

Inflammatory title writing again I see.

My guess is that is abot 25% of the electorate who will never approve of anything that Obama does. The figure is higher for conservatives ... so overall taking this into consideration he is doing just fine, thank you.

Even when his numbers are down, they're up. Don't look, but the Emporer has no clothes!

This is the same reasoning that says that we can get rid of the deficit by spending more, or boost the economy by stealing my money (that I would have spent) and giving it to someone else so "he will spend it"!

    Yada, yada, yada!!!

Boy, talk about speeding down the highway in a thick fog----!:BangHead:

Yep...totally misrepresentation. If Obama did this, he'd be called a liar.

The title is factual and not inflammatory in any way.

IMO, it's not inflammatory (yep, I'm defending you on this one, can I get a high five). But it's slightly inaccurate. It should read "Most disapprove", not "most strongly disapprove". According to the Rasmussen poll, 51% of those polled disapprove, while the "strongly disapprove" number is at 38%. That said, the fact that 51% disapprove is significant.

It would be interesting to see the numbers compared to past POTUS approval ratings.

Rev. as you are prone to do, you wrote the title of the OP of this thread. It is not truthful. Here is the title from the link you gave:

You wrote an inflammatory title which, again, shows you are hate filled. It is sad for someone who says they are a minister for Prince of Peace to do so.

Were is it written that the title of a thread must be the same as the title of an article which the thread is linked to?

That is really not the point. The point is that thread titles should accurately portray what is being linked to. This thread's title is commentary and worse, just outright wrong. If Keith Olbermann or Dan Rather were doing it, you guys would be all over it, and correctly so.

Just because my title is not the same as the article does not make it untrue nor does it make it inflammatory. But of course since some have no real argument other than the fact that they do not like the article they attack unrelated things and try to create a problem where there is none.

And even if that were the case it would not be a problem.

The title was given to give specific information about what was in the op. Daily tracking poll say nothing so I gave a title that more specifically spoke to the information contained in it. It was either most disapprove or more strongly disapprove. The truth is even though I accidentally conflated them the information is certainly there for all to see. Nothing was hid from anyone. So given that it is obvious that there was no dishonesty intended.

Having said that the most Americans disapprove of the President. And the distraction from that is the intended goal of the criticism.

And that coming form someone with inflammatory font. Again this is just a distraction from the truth they do not like.

Doesn't the term "most" denote a majority. You claim most strongly disapprove of Obama's performance when the actual number is 39%.

The correct statement right now is "the majority disapprove (not all strongly) of his policies by 51% against and 49% for. I would agree that this number is going down and indicates that a majority right now disapprove of his performance. Most presidents in office during hard times get low ratings. I would guess that Lincoln didn't have much support during at least the early part of the Civil War when the Union was losing and that FDR got low marks during the depression. I'll have to take a look at that.

Then honestly convey the point in your titles. Your title is NOT what the poll says. You yourself created the distraction.

If there are four or more choices - which we have in this case then 39% could indeed be "most"

If the other three choices of strongly approve, approve and disapprove are each less than 39% then strongly disapprove at 39% would have the most.

The majority disapprove (not all strongly) of his policies by 51% against and 49% for

That would be a pretty long thread title.:tongue3:

Crabby, what's with the giant sized font anyway?

Some people think that your jumbo sized font is inflammatory.

Why don't you just go to the top right of your screen and hit "Increase font size"? Try 50% - that should be plenty big enough.

I know that this has been suggested to you before.

    Why do you resist?
