You might snoop microsoft.com, they were going to come out with some free kid protection software. I haven't heard what will be in the program as yet.

Google is your best friend if noone has any good suggestions besides the DAD -- MOM suite.

Also you might look for kiosk software. I found a Mac program for internet kiosks that was a browser that you could lockout with time limits.

BTW, if you have Windows Vista, you can setup day and hour restrictions for computer use. My son automatically gets logged off at 8pm.

We used an analog firmware called Dad's Mouth. When the kids had reached their time limit I would look at my watch and firmly yell, "Hey, get off that computer. You've been on it long enough!" :type: Worked like a charm.

If you use a router (wireless or wired) then you may have an Internet time control program already in the routers firmware. Most Linksys routers I have used give you the option to disconnect your network from the Internet during the days/time of your choosing. Of course most of these will disconnect the Internet for all of your computers on the network not just the one being used by the kids. The advantage to it is it makes it more difficult for a kid to disable it by resetting Vista parental controls, logging into your admin account or using another computer. That does assume you have a good password on your router though!

    Hope this helps!

I use OpenDNS, too. Highly recommended, and it is free.
