MSNBC is reporting that in former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge's new book, he confirms that top Bush Administration officials pressured him to elevate the terrorist threat color code level on the weekend before the 2004 election. Officials included Rumsfeld and Ashcroft.

This is more of the politics of fearmongering and corruption. I say prosecute the entire bunch.

Been saying this for years. So how come the democrats aren't prosecuting them? Couldn't be because they were and still are complicit in the whole criminal affair could it?

Don't you know there is nothing you can say that will convince this group of (people) that Bush should be held accountable for what he did.

Just like there is nothing President Obama can do that will gain their approval.

    What an intelligent response.

Go ahead and prosecute. Then allow the GOP to prosecute all the democrats who set up a recession for the 2008 election.

Sure is a lot of smoke around this fire...Scott McClellan, Colin Powell, and now Tom Ridge. Ridge is an honorable man. Some folks will defend unethical and criminal actions by Republicans to the death, all the while slinging mud about any Democrat in sight. I'd say the GOP is bent on self destruction.

What does that mean? Was there no legitimate reason to do so? What was the intent? MSNBC lacks any objectivity on Bush and we do not know exactly what was said. Just your weak characterization.

Bush is no hero of Curtis and he has been quite vocal about his issues with Bush long before you ever got here. It would serve you well to get to know people on this board better so you do not make this mistake.

Amazing! No matter how many former Bush appointees come clean about the corruption in the Bush administration, the right-wingers will continue to bury their heads in the sand.

Actually this is just further proof of the complete corruption in Washington from both parties. The political system will not save us because they are very few, if any, moral men left in Washington. What we have are a bunch of liars, adulterers, thugs, and outright scumbags running our country. Is it any wonder we are in the mess we are in.

Prosecuting Bush would be "so easy a caveman could do it".

BUGLIOSI: Absolutely. You issue a criminal subpoena, the court does, the prosecutor gets the court to do it, and they'd have to respond. But listen, let's talk about the documents that we already know about. When Bush spoke to the nation on the evening of October 7, 2002, Cincinnati, Ohio, he told millions of unsuspecting Americans the exact opposite of what his own CIA told him. He said that Hussein was an imminent threat to the security of this country. Six days earlier, the CIA told him the exact opposite, that Hussein was not an imminent threat to the security of this country. Millions of Americans were deceived. And it gets worse. October 4, the Bush administration put out an unclassified summary version of the classified October 1 report. It came to be known as the White Paper. And in this White Paper, the conclusion of US intelligence that Hussein was not an imminent threat to the security of this country was completely deleted. Every single one of these all-important words was taken out. So Congress and the American people did not see that. And, by the way, a very conservative Republican congressmen who voted for the war, staunch supporter of the war, called me on June 16 in my home in LA. He heard the book on tape. He said, "Mr. Bugliosi, you've convinced me Bush misled Congress. I've bought several copies of the book, handed out to members of Congress, told them to read the book. We've been lied to." And this congressman from the deep south has got a deep conscience. After the election he's going to come forward with me, and he said, "I want to be by your side when George Bush is prosecuted for first-degree murder as a conservative Republican congressman," 'cause he learned for the first time that this White Paper that he was given on October 4, extremely important information was deleted from it by the Bush administration. This is a very heavy book here. I only write serious books, you know. I've had three books got up to number one on The New York Times hardcover bestseller list. SOURCE

But the democrats aren't doing it. What's that mean Bro?

    Me and my hero ?

First, explain to me what I did to cause this. In detail. Or retract the statement.

Second, I was critical of Bush's Patriot Act, the wars, the bailouts, the wiretapping, and several other points.

I guess when you can't debate intelligently, you need to lie about the opposition. You get that from King Zero, probably.

There's a big difference between not believing Bush should be held accountable and not seeing any evidence to prosecute him.

Most of the conservatives here have been critical of Bush when he deserved it.

So, what has Obama done so far that should earn our approval? What did Bush do that earned your approval?
