And we want these people running our healthcare industry?

No doubt, someone will say "the healthcare bill doesn't run the healthcare industry, it just provides insurance". But the argument remains. If the federal government is doing a poor job at managing cash-for-clunker payments (which is a temporary program), imagine how much worse it will be at managing health insurance payments (which will be a permanent program). That alone, imo, is sufficient to oppose government run health insurance.

It took 136 pages of government regulations to explain the program. And...

Dealers have to fax in over 20 pages of documentation with each claim

If a program this simple is that complicated to explain and run, imagine how many pages of regulations will be required to outline a healthcare program...all written by lawyers and legislators who know zip about healthcare or insurance.

Then imagine how many pages of documentation it will take for a doctor or hospital to get their money.

They could go broke while waiting.

To be fair, the CARS program was a hastily-constructed, poorly administered program that involved interaction with thousands of dealerships who had never interacted with the government in this fashion before.

The jumpstart from Medicare's infrastructure (despite its many flaws) would mitigate this problem somewhat.

Or make it worse. You don't believe this healthcare bill is being "hastily constructed"?

As soon as doctors get hit with Obama's 20% pay cut for services, many of them will refuse medicare patients entirely.

Where will they go for care when care is refused by their primary physicians?

It's all part of the government administration nightmare.

BTW Medicare is administered by private companies that actually process and pay the claims. Some of the same companies democrats demonize and want to put out of business.

    Adding to the nightmare.

My only point was that healthcare won't be breaking new ground, administratively speaking.

I'm not defending any of the plans in existence right now. Most of them are simply "putting a band-aid on cancer," so to speak.
