Sentenced to death on the NHS

Patients with terminal illnesses are being made to die prematurely under an NHS scheme to help end their lives, leading doctors have warned.

    Published: 10:00PM BST 02 Sep 2009

In a letter to The Daily Telegraph, a group of experts who care for the terminally ill claim that some patients are being wrongly judged as close to death.

Under NHS guidance introduced across England to help doctors and medical staff deal with dying patients, they can then have fluid and drugs withdrawn and many are put on continuous sedation until they pass away.

But this approach can also mask the signs that their condition is improving, the experts warn.
As a result the scheme is causing a “national crisis” in patient care, the letter states.

Perhaps this is why Obama and the democrats insist that Obamacare will save money!

They are liars but they plan to reduce Medicare by $50 billion per year which means some doctors will quit accepting Medicare. Furthermore, they are reducing payments to cardiologists and oncologists more than others and these are the doctors the elderly need.

I figured everyone already knew about this.

It's just a reminder of how Obama's "death panels" will work and what their real purpose is...to save money by the severest form of rationing known to man. Kill the recipient.

    JustChristian/Freedom/alatide...

You are looking increasingly worse in this debate...

Do you have anything to offer substantively that refutes the OP?

Or will you waste your next post saying something along the lines of, "George Bush is satan, and it's his fault everything is like this?"

    Thanks for the laugh.

$500 billion over 10 years. I would note that the reimbursement rate for some medical specalities is already abysmal.
