Book sales ... blog visits ... tea parties ... town halls ... a national poll ... There is increasing evidence of a shift in the political winds: the nation is swinging right after President Obama's victory last November.

A recent Gallup poll found that people who identify themselves as conservatives now outnumber liberals in every state. And that tilt is reflected in book sales, with three political books by conservative authors listed in the Top 10 New York Times nonfiction bestsellers: "Culture of Corruption" by Michelle Malkin, "Liberty and Tyranny" by Mark R. Levin, and "Catastrophe" by Dick Morris and Eileen McGann.

There are no political books written by liberals on the list.

Some media analysts say it's a sign that the mainstream news media are biased and out of touch, which is driving conservatives to find their information in other forms of media.

Like the books by the so-called "New Atheists", books like this tend to preach to the choir. I doubt they do much to change anyone's minds.

Nope, there is a definite surge of conservatism sweeping the nation. Like it or not, FOX is Number 1 in ratings for a reason.

People are beginning to see the truth about Obama.. the truth that we have been saying all along. Even Obama supporters I know are starting to question his choices.

It is only the Obama worshippers that are holding out.

Another indication that conservatism is sweeping the nation; look at the Obama speech to children on Tuesday....

Now, many presidents have spoken to children about getting a good education..
But what makes this time around different?
The lesson plans that were originally sent out to "educate" our children, and have the children come up with ways to help Obama get things done...

Now the Whitehouse has changed the speech, and will air a friendly speech and say, "See there was nothing to worry about.. all you that freaked out are silly conservatives"

Which is what Roland Martin CNN correspondant called conservatives, that were protesting this possible indoctrination of children, the other night on air when I was watching CNN. Hmmm.. calling a major base in America, "silly" is not a way to attract viewers to CNN...

Not a major base? Hmmm.. then why are we so effective at shutting Obama up on Tuesday... Many states will not air his garbage... why? Conservatives stood up, and demanded that his communist slant not be shown to our children.

Our Superintendent has sent email to all teachers telling them to not waste time on this "speech"...

Why? Conservatives flooded the BOE with emails, letters, etc.

Conservatives are growing... watch out 2012... WE WILL TAKE BACK THE WHITEHOUSE. Watch out 2010... we will take back the congress...

All you communist liberals listen closely.... you had better get everything you want done by Jan, 2011... because that's the time set for the conservative takeover.

We are building steam... It's not a Democrat thing, or a Republican thing... It's a taking back our country from Marxists, conservative thing.

Libs have 15 months to party.. .then the party is OVER!

Because they play to an audience. They know what their constituency wants to hear, whether or not it is news. IMO, news organizations can have editorials, but they should clearly not transgress the line of infiltrating the news reporting. This goal is not entirely possible as long as people do the job, but it is an ideal that Fox is not even trying to approach.

There never has been a proven cause and effect between book sales and political action. After all, the most sold book is . . . the Bible.

The bible had nothing to do with the establishment of the United States of America.

I disagree. People came here to worship Jesus Christ out of the scrutiny of the Anglican church.

I don't know if it's conservatism sweeping the nation or just common sense. I do hope for the sake of this nation that people use enough common sense to figure out the big government republicans aren't going to suddenly change their spots and restore the republic just because a gaggle of liberals ruled the roost for a little bit.

Republicans have already shown the can be easily led down the path to destruction by a poser who talks their talk. And now the democrats are finding out they can be led astray just as easily by a smooth talking poser who talks their talk.

Both parties have been soundly neoconned now by the global elite's sock puppets. Let's not let it happen again.

One of the many reasons people came to the New World was to escape religious persecution, this is true. People also came here for many other reasons also.

My point was that the bible was not the basis for the Constitution. Many of the framers were religious, but no where in the Constitution was the bible even quoted or referred to.

Which is what I am trying to say.

    Fox plays to conservatives
    NBC plays to liberals...

The very fact that Fox ranks higher in ratings means there are more conservatives watching News than liberals.

Translation.... Conservatives are on an upswing.

Where does the Bible teach that one should rebel against one's Christian ruler?

    Who is speaking rebellion...
And who is the is "christian" ruler?

We in America are the rulers... WE the people... WE make the laws...
The Bible was written under monarchy.. not democracy.
WE rule... and we will be held accountable by the decisions or lack of decisions we make.

This country was founded because people were being oppressed because of their biblical beliefs. Your statement is false.

I guess this guy can't count to 6 because there we have:

THE HEALING OF AMERICA, by T. R. Reid. (Penguin Press, $25.95.) How other industrialized democracies provide health care for all at a reasonable cost.
    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/13/books/bestseller/besthardnonfiction.html?_r=1&ref=books

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Washington Post correspondent Reid (The United States of Europe) explores health-care systems around the world in an effort to understand why the U.S. remains the only first world nation to refuse its citizens universal health care. Neither financial prudence nor concern for the commonweal explains the American position, according to Reid, whose findings divulge that the U.S. not only spends more money on health care than any other nation but also leaves 45 million residents uninsured, allowing about 22,000 to die from easily treatable diseases.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

The conservative don't care about providing health care to those who need it. This must be a LIBERAL book.
