The picture is over ten years old, and is a 1997 Promise Keepers rally. Since it has been posted here, I thought the truth should come out.

One of my brothers explained it to me...

Acorn mistakenly thought that they were supposed to count the number of people at the march and decided to try a new technique that they were planning to use for the census.

The Democrats decided that this level of incompetence was too much for even them - that's the real reason they cut Acorn's funding off.

If someone knowingly puts up the wrong photo, they should be ashamed.

And folks "up the food chain" responsibility, and publicity-wise, IMO hold a greater responsibility to verifying photos and such; one, because they are information sources (and are thus held to higher standards); two, because their greater visibility means an untruth/misstatement/lie/whatever it is will be more often copied & repeated; three, they have greater resources to fact-check.

Now...having said this: That one photo is by no means the only basis on which estimates were offered. In fact, I would contend it is quite the minor issue.

Several other photos (as well as a time-lapse on Youtube) have surfaced, making the "60,000" claim continue to be a laughable assertion.

Why am I not surprised? Because zealots have no ethics.

I had wondered about the photo. Why? Because the footage on the local news here showed nothing like the crowd shown in the photo.

I think there is a very good chance alatide and Robert Snow are the same person, and/or a rehash of former banned names.

Exactly who are the "they" that you are referring to here?

    Names please.

    Oh yes, and proof please.

But the other more important truthes are that the park service estimated the crowd at larger than the inauguration and that there was no clean up bill like when Obama's faithfull trashed Washington.

I am a zealot. My zeal is focused on one thing, Chirst and Him crucified. I contend that my zeal for Jesus is the foundation of my ethics.

I would also argue that any person who would call themselves a Christ-Follower must be a zealot. Jesus has a term for those who are not zealous in their faith... lukewarm.

Be mindful of your word selections as they can be a window to your soul.

Very well done. A very good song from the 84 of the last person who ran for the office worthy to hold it.

I totally agree with you on being a follower of Jesus. But that's not what t'his discussion is about. Its about putting politics ahead of faith. Jesus said:

Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

    This is about serving mammon.

It was one of you liberals that posted it first.. Xavier!...

He or she was trying to show gaps in the photo....

So it was a liberal that lied, and said it was from yesterday first on this board.

    HA!

Little feminine one. This shows your ignorance of the scriptures. Ask any one, and you will find that serving Mammon is the love of money over God. It has nothing to do with 'politics'. Thanks for playing though.

Actually Tim, the poster likely got it from a con source. It has been widely circulated on the net and by email from people using it to demonstrate that there was a huger than reality turnout.
