Being a new pastor, I've been thinking about this a little. I set up my own spreadsheet to keep track of members, contacts, and attendance. The other office uses a spreadsheet to keep track of the financial stuff. But what advantage does a church management software bring? It seems to me to just be a database of information.

You might search www.ccmag.com for some reviews on the different packages. This would give you an idea of what they can do. I've often wondered the same thing about other kinds of software. Pictures might be one area that would be different. I don't know if the free one does pics or not.

Check out the cost of over 100 people and be sure you want to commit to it, we wouldn't want to have you beating people away from your doors because you didn't have software enough to cover them

I downloaded it a few months ago and it looked better than any of the other free software I had seen. The stuff that costs has some real good looks and it will do lots of things for you if you want to spend the money.

I would also suggest seeing how available the data is if you decide to go with something else in the future. Some database stuff sticks it in a fomat known only to that company and you are stuck with them. It should be able to export or be in a common format if possible.

Yeah, I agree. Church management software is a great help in every churches. It handles functions such as accounting, tracking donations, service attendance, membership, schedules and activities. Churches use these applications to automate and organize administrative functions including document creation, outreach and event scheduling.
