What do the requirements to win the Nobel Peace prize and President Obama's accomplishments have in common?

    Nothing

As I heard Pat Kenny, a VERY liberal Irish radio presenter say in dismay yesterday, 'Well, I guess that's one way to get a world personality to visit your country.'

"A shocking announcement today from the National Football League, an announcement that has shocked the football world. Commissioner Roger Goodell and the board at the National Football League have named the Kansas City Chiefs the winners of this season's Super Bowl, which will be played in February. The NFL decided to reward the Chiefs for their good intentions at rebuilding a lackluster franchise. Despite their 0-4 record they have been proclaimed the winners of the Super Bowl yet to be played in 2010..."

I heard today that Obama also won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry. The reason? He just has such great chemistry!

A Nobel prize winner walked into a bar, and fell asleep. Nine months later, the bartender came over, woke him up and said he had just won a years worth of the house special - the Peace Award drink. The customer answered "Wow"

You don't think this joke is funny? I'm trying to figure out which is funnier, my joke or the fact that BHO won the Nobel prize.

Glad you asked, according to this article, there are two kinds of awards, achievement-based and "aspirational". Now I agree his award isn't achievement based but I do believe a great case can be made for aspirational but you would have to begin by removing hate from the eyes of the person making the case.

L.B., that joke wasn't the least bit funny.

But speaking of hate, the zero does join Arafat in the award's recipients.

You've already enthroned him. He doesn't need for it to happen again. I don't worship him but you and many here simply insist on doing so. I suggest that you worship Jesus Christ instead.

Aspirational? You mean because he aspires? Well, the award should have gone to Hillary, she has been showing raw ambition for decades, Obama is the new kid on the block. :tongue3:

And I don't know who you are speaking of when you mentioned hate. I certainly don't hate Obama, I just absolutely disagree with his political policies. I am against abortion and do not like his socialist mentality especially. Other than his political policies, he seems like a very likeable guy, charming even.

Don't you know, if you disagree with Obama, it is required for the Obamamites to accuse you of one of 2 things...

    Hate
    or
    Racism...

    Well, I hate Racism..... LOL

Then I was not referring to you. Clearly there are some who hate Obama and not just for his policies. I venture to say we have some (not necessarily on this board) who would cheer his death. Some of the things I've seen and heard of the past few weeks has me convinced not all of this country was ready for a black president.

Just to be clear, when I say hate or racist I am not referring to anyone in particular but it is clear not everyone is opposing Obama purely on his policies. To imply that is a bit naive.

This was my point, Arafat was awarded the prize for promoting Middle East peace. Is there peace in the middle east? No. So his award was not for achievement, it was putting the weight of the committee behind his cause.

Same with Obama, the committee is supporting his cause and vision of world peace and reduced nuclear stockpiles.

Not at all... There are plenty who oppose Obama purely on ideological differences. However, where he was born is not a policy. Winning the Olympics is not a policy. Calling him a Muslim is not a policy. Calling him the Messiah is not a policy. Need I go on?

Oh, and I hate racism also...

IOW - in LeBuick's world to question whether Obama meets the constitutional standard to be President is racism.

To believe that Chicago not being selected to host the Olympics is not necessarily a bad thing is racism against Obama.

To question whether Obama may be a Muslim based on his personal history is racism.

I find the above to be reasonable concerns.

    Am I then a racist?

Would I still be a racist if I am also Black?

Why do you assume that I am not?

If you assume that I am not Black based only on my opinions about Obama does that not then make you racist?

OK, you win. I will admit that Obama has done as much as Arafat did to promote world peace,
