they'd rather have their THY or YOUR for "accuracy."

1 John 5
6 This is He who came through water and blood—Jesus Christ, not only by the water, but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is He who witnesses, because the Spirit is the truth. 7 For there are three that bear witness: 8 the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.

what?? so much for the verbiage over the Comma!

stands unflinchingly on the Deity of Christ (Granville Sharp rule applied), which some KJBOists complain abt, claiming instead a hendiadys!

Revelation 22

they'd probably whine (pun unintended) abt watering down fr the BOOK of life.

Thx, OP. fr a kneejerk, cursory reading, it seems more readable than the New King James (which isn't Majority, i know), n i think it'll fill a niche.

 

While I am adamantly opposed to the KJVO doctrines of "secondary inspiration" and "advanced revelation", I prefer the "Traditional Text" over the "Majority".

I guess I am one of the grouches who sees 1 John 5:7 as authoritative.
Which by the way has been preserved in some Latin text(s), several writings of Early Church Fathers (quoted as Scripture) and a few late Greek mss.

I certainly don't make it a lithmus test of any kind. I use several versions which omit the Johannine Comma (NIV, NASV, etc.) having been derived from non-Byzantine mss which omit the Comma as well as the Majority Text and understand that I just might be wrong (Surprise! ).

I agree with HankD on this one. The passage reads better, IMHO, with it than without it.

Other than that, I agree more with the concept of the Majority Text than the limited texts used in the KJV translation or the Alexandrian Texts. That said, I would take a King James translation over any using the Alexandrian Texts.

 

I don't have it, but the EMTV has been around for about 5 years. I have the Analytical-Literal Translation New Testament which is also MT-based; and I can recommend the ALT.
