I've never seen anything like this, I've prayed for something like this, but this is even more.
Remember a month or so ago I posted my daughter in law was baptized, my son and his family are now about as faithful as anyone can get about church, and teaching their kids about God and scripture, the babies are now memorizing scripture. God really got a hold of this family.
They go to our old church, theres this woman there, 2 years ago she moved here becasue God told her too, she knew only one person here had never been here. She has prayed and pray for God to tell her why she was here. Recently Ho told her why she is here.
Sunday she spoke to my son about his family and their particular needs with all the kids being always sick and some of it the doctors not even knowing whats going on.
She wants to buy them a house, they pay her monthly when they get on their feet and get their debt paid off, it will be their house, in their name, they can not lose this house. God told her to buy them a house. Apparently this little old woman who looks like she just survives on social security spent 40 years saving and investing, and is paying cash for $130,000. house, which here is a large nice home.
I can not believe someone is not only giving them a house, but a large, really nice, victorian, in the historic district of our town.
wow, God is so much more.

I'm not sure which is more amazing: That God brought this woman into their lives, or that that's still a place in the US where a person can buy a nice house for 130K. Either way, God is good.

Johnv, you can buy a nice house, not needing repairs for 50,000 here, it just isn't over 1000 sq ft(my house is only 800 sq ft), theirs is going to be like 2300 sq ft something like that anyway.

Is this a bad time to mention that my 1700 sq foot home currently lists for $500k in my area? Is that woman adopting?

Seriously, though, should we really be surprised when God does such wonderful things? He's always faithful. PTL!

Around here, you can get an absolute dump one bedroom cottage 10 feet from the main highway (as in - be careful when you open the front door because a car might be buzzing by right then) that needs new everything for $300,000. A decent place with a quarter acre runs you well over $500,000.

Yep - we had that too. Now we're mortgage-free, thank God. BUT that doesn't mean we still don't have to pay something each month. Our property taxes are $14,000 each year. :BangHead:

Glad I don't live where you all, we couldn't even afford rent there.
we once wanted to buy a little house about 100 sq ft, nice place, needed no repairs, maybe some paint, our montly payment was going to be $250. BUT when the bank sent out the guy to evaluate it for the loan they said it wasn't valued at the sale price of $32,500. they would loan to us, but not for that house.
unfortunate things happened in our family's life and we never were able to buy any house.
But for $300,000 to $400,000. you can buy an almost mansion here, hugh 3000 sq ft, with granite and marble, real hard woods, large land, all super nice. Not many of these houses here though.

I keep telling you it's a very economically depressed area, very poor.

Well, I admit we have several dollars in equity. We paid $195,000 for our house and 4 acres five years ago.

But a 500,000 dollar house in this area is a very upscale home.

Praise the Lord, DonnA. That's all that can said.

Like Amy.G, my house payment is pretty low, right around $600 (inc. taxes and insurance) for 1500 sq.ft. on an acre. We borrowed $75K for it, and that included complete renovations and tree removals (foreclosure home). Our old house had a payment of $268, but was less than 900 sq.ft.

See? Living in the South can be good for something. :D
