Prayer for Obama (bumper sticker)

It's takes a sick mind to come up with such a bumper sticker, a sick mind to place it on one's vehicle, and a sick mind to think it is funny.

Just read that verse in context. No one who is a Christian should think that it is funny.

 

Oh brother. Lighten up, Ken.


I haven't forgotten the praise you had for the man and his policies.

 

Better to praise a man than to wish for his death.

 

It's takes a sick mind to come up with such an interpretation.

I took it as "Let his days as President be few; and let another take his place of leadership."

His days as President could be few if...

He is not re-elected...
He is impeached...
He is proven to have been born in Kenya...

 

Psalm 109:8
Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

Too bad for you that the bumper sticker did not include all of the above.

 

In essence it did for those who have read the entire Bible.

It's an eminently appropriate prayer for an evil usurper.

 

Yeah, let's just ignore the fact that most of the Americans who voted voted for Barack Obama.

 

Why expand the verse to just the chapter - why not the whole book or the whole Bible.

The bumpersticker said what it said... it is you that is adding to it and reading into it what it did not say.

My thought is someone should have been praying this prayer, most fervently, about Joseph Kennedy.

 

I think a more appropriate pair of verses for a bumper sticker directed toward President Obama would be:

1 Timothy 2:
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

 

Yes, I am. There are many, many things in my life that disturb me. I am so very grateful for the grace and mercy of God my Father for without Him I would be totally undone.

 

You really think that all of that would fit on a bumper sticker?
