"When we correct for both gimmicks, counting both on- and off-budget costs over the first 10 years of implementation, the total cost of ObamaCare reaches — I’m so sorry about this — $6.25 trillion. That’s not a precise estimate. It’s just far closer to the truth than President Obama and congressional Democrats want the debate to be."

We knew what we would get if we voted for him and now we are geeting it. All one needed to do was read about him, it was all out there. The american voter has spoken and we are getting what they voted for.

I don't care for what we are could be getting but more of our fine folks wanted him than any of the others, so now it looks as if we might have to pay for it, thats life.

Not so with everyone. In fact the majority of independents are walking away from him.

I know, but they had the same option as so many of us. They could have read about his past record and about what he was for, as many of us did. If they voted for him, they got what they voted for, if they didn't, they are with me, they got him too. He is our president. What a price to pay.

I know how you feel, but I checked this morning and he is still the president of the USA. I felt the same way about JFK while in the service, it was pointed out he was commander in chief, I believe, so he was my president. If Florida pulls out of the Union we might have something to say, but that isn't going to help.

Doesn't make him my President. He is the abortionist in chief but not much more.

The Pied Piper piped, and the masses followed!!

Can't explain how so many with their heads in the sand could actually follow :)tongue3:), but somehow it happened.

A few have pulled their heads out, but way too many are still buried shoulder-deep, head-first in the sand.

What has the cost over the next ten years have to do with anything? Why does anyone on this list care? The cost of the last ten years of wars has cost more than 6 trillion and the wars were bought on credit. None of you are concerned about paying for the wars. You prefer war to health care?

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Your 6 trillion spent will merely serve to destroy our health care system - not get us health care.

I have no idea why the thought about JFK while you were in the service, but what would the alternative have been, Richard Nixon from the 60 election? That didn't work out so well, did it?

In fact, to show how far left both parties have drifted since the period of time you are talking about, JFK's administration was well to the right of both Bush Administrations and a McCain Administration. There was restraint in government growth, tax cuts, and a strong defense.

I say that having voted for Nixon, which was a mistake.

One thing I agree with for sure, we got just what we voted for. You are correct, the evidence was out there for what to expect. The American people have got themselves between a rock and a hard place. We have so lowered the bar for the two choices for President, there is no real solution to a failed administration but to elect a different administration that is going to fail. Not that Kennedy or Nixon in the 60 election were stellar candidates, but they were light years ahead of candidates from either party since say 1988. There just do not seem to be any Trumans, Goldwaters, or Reagans nominated anymore.

It would be a fascinating study to figure out why we seem to nominate unqualified candidates for the job of President, but we do. Maybe the answer is it is a reflection of ourselves.

It should be no surprise to anyone about the cost overuns on this project. It is not so much the cost that is going to harm this nation (even though it is never good to purchase something with money created out of thin air), but damage is going to come from government running one sixth of the economy.

If you would have bothered looking, some of us have complained about spending through both administrations, about many issues.

No doubt, war is expensive. But so is rebuilding a destroyed American city thanks to Islamo-terrorists.

And I care, because it's my money, and the government is wasting it.

In the last several years I don't remember reading any threads about the cost of any of our various wars.

This "pulling out of the US" stuff baffles me. The Florida economy is designed for retired people and tourists. Florida is the least likely state to survive independently.

Florida residents going to stop cashing their SS checks? Florida going to put up border crossing posts?

Say the Florida Legislature send a note of resignation to Obama. What happens next?

JFK's voting record and how much he was absent for votes while a senator. JFK had said if his party didn't back him, he was going to back Nixon. And then all the mess about how he got in with help from W.Va., Daily, Hoffa and the mob. His playing around made Clinton look like a good kid. And if one takes time to read one will find out he wasn't making many happy and that is why he went to Texas to try and get Senator Yarborough's backing.

You are correct. And Reagan was only about 10% or so more conservative than JFK. I almost didn't vote for Reagan due to his backing of JFK and he had said FDR was his political hero. It is why I say Reagan wasn't a conservative but a liberal, but not by today's standards but by the standards that I grew up with and still believe for the most part.

As much as my dad disliked President Truman, he loved Truman's remark that JFK had his ear so close to the ground to see what people wanted and were saying, that JFK's ears were full of grasshoppers. And for the record I believe Truman was mor conservative than Reagan.

Why don't you instead talk about the topic at hand which is your owners sticking us with a $6,000,000,000,000 plus bill in addition to higher taxes for longer waits for less medical services ?

Six trillion is a really big number when you use the zeros - isn't it?
