Well, saying that Chris Matthews called West Point an enemy camp is true, but it is misrepresenting him to a degree. He was speaking of his observations when Obama spoke at West Point. He did not appear to be well received or supported there. That is all he was saying.

That said, Matthews is absolutely a liberal and worships the Kennedy's and now Obama.

there is no reason Obama should be well received at any Military Academy as long as no one throws a shoe at him, or orherwise overtly shows disrespect. Also Matthews is a bone-fide flake!

Obama was not enthusiastically received and that prompted Mattews to characterize the cadets as an "enemy camp".

I believe that is indicative of the liberal news media , in general, anytime their hero, the zero, is not greeted by with screams of delight and fawning approval.

It should send them a message that there is clearly a problem with Obama's war fighting poliy, or lack of it,when he is greeted with suspicion by those charged with implementing it.

Instead, they characterize this nations defenders as an "enemy camp".

    It's shameful.

I tend to agree with Carpro on this. Calling West Point the "enemy camp" is not acceptable.

I guess that Chris Matthews is a Pogo fan.

"We Have Met the Enemy and He Is Us."

After his speech was over, many of the cadets went up to see BO , and it seemed some were very eager to shake his hand.

Since Mathews is a political commentator, I am assuming he meant "enemy" in a political sense and not literal.

With a liberal, how can you say for sure?

So, to my way of thinking, that doesn't mitigate such an idiotic remark one bit. Instead it gets his real mindset out in the open.

To Obama's mindless minions of the media, anyone...and I do mean anyone...who doesn't fawn all over their hero is the enemy.

The context of how it was said.

There is enough valid serious complaints about Obama that by complaining about something like this said by a liberal talking head it just diminishes those complaints that are legitimate.

So, don't take part in the discussion.

I mean , after all, it's not a complaint about Obama at all. Is it?

So why are you here? There are plenty of other threads that complain about Obama. Join some of them and leave this one to wander aimlessly about.

Without your input, surely it will just fade away.

Actually I feel Matthews was just being truthful, for he truly does view the military as the enemy of liberalism as did the clintoons and most liberals today. Obama rode the fence on this one as he had to appease both sides.

    I agree.

I think Matthews meant it both politically and literally.

    1. Literally, in that the liberal media has a built in bias against the military.
    2. Politically, in that any crowd that has a muted response to our fearless leader is seen as the enemy by liberals and the media.

Coming from a liberal worm like Matthews, his apology is primarily for voicing what he believes at the wrong time and place.
