    I looked up the phrase "fiscal responsibility" in the political dictionary, and the definition was "divert blame for the budget on the previous party or administration". That makes more sense now.

    When Bush entered the office of president there was a budget surplus. Almost immediately he turned it into a budget deficit. Then with the start of the Iraq war the deficit spun out of contnrol. This Obama inherited. Also the Bush administration ignored warning signs of the economy going Souith and that has made it even worse. Obama inherited a terrible mess from the former administration. You can deny this, but that does not alter the truth.

    But Bush didn't promise fiscal responsibility, so it was okay.

    (Clearly, I'm a nonpartisan humorist)

    This is supposed to be "Clean Humor"...you should refrain from dirty words like "Barack Obama". Next time I'll have to report you to a mod!

    Actually, no. I've never met CTB, and although his politics differ greatly from mine, I have nothing against him whatsoever. I'm just of the "Obi Wan" mindset: They're politicians, and polticians cannot be trusted. Doesn't matter if they're Democrat, Republican, Conservative, or Liberal.

    Bush inherited a recession

    We were attacked by terrorists which started a war

    What Bush inherited was as result of the dot com bubble burst ( not clintons fault)

    What Obama inherited was a result of democratic mishandling of the housing market forcing loans on companies to people who could not otherwise afford them.

    Obama has exacerbated the whole mess with out of control spending on unnecessary liberal wish lists.

    You can deny these truths but it will not change the facts.

  9. A word of caution should be applied here!

    Whilst it may be funny in some circumstances to have a laugh it would be prudent to let your subject matter determine the likely hood of it.

    Keep in mind the following:
    Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

    St. Paul, writing to the Romans, whose city was the seat of the empire, speaks largely of obedience to magistrates: and this was also, in effect, a public apology for the Christian religion. Let every soul be subject to the supreme powers - An admonition peculiarly needful for the Jews. Power, in the singular number, is the supreme authority; powers are they who are invested with it. That is more readily acknowledged to be from God than these. The apostle affirms it of both. They are all from God, who constituted all in general, and permits each in particular by his providence. The powers that be are appointed by God - It might be rendered, are subordinate to, or, orderly disposed under, God; implying, that they are God's deputies or vicegerents and consequently, their authority being, in effect, his, demands our conscientious obedience.
    Wesley

    2Pe 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
    2Pe 2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

    Chiefly them that walk after the flesh - Corrupt nature; particularly in the lust of uncleanness. And despise government - The authority of their governors. Dignities - Persons in authority. Wesley

    2Pe 2:11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
    2Pe 2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
    2Pe 2:13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
    2Pe 2:14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
    2Pe 2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

    Carlyle Marney, a great Baptist preacher, defined Baptists as:

    "We Baptists are those people who will not drink with the friends."

    My father, a Baptist preacher, once said "the difference between Baptists and Presbyterians is that they drink in front of each other."
